Kohaku pov:"Hisui-chan, are you ready to get some good rest!?" I asked

Hisui looked at me and tilted her head. "Why are you working on the mecha?" She asked me

"Well that's..." I paused

"That's?"

"Hisui-chan, don't say that I have been working too hard; I promise you I haven't been!" I said

I know I have been working too hard, but I don't want to admit it.

"Onee-chan..." Hisui said

I sighed at her tone. She is so apathetic all the time. She is still adorable, though, but I don't know if she is really showing me her caring side enough.

"I apologize for making you worried!" I said

"I'm not worried," she replied.

I glared at her and sighed at her since she wasn't being very nice to her precious older sister.

"Come on," I told her.

"I'm not really worried," she said.

"Are you sure?" I asked

"Yes," she said.

"Okay then!" I said

I lunged into bed, tackling her down into the bed. "Can you read to me?" Hisui asked

I looked at her and smiled at her. That is something I never expected her to ask; we aren't children, so I didn't think she would want something like that.

"Hold it, let me see what books we have," I told her as I went to look at the books.

Frigid Skies, Finding One'sself, Blossoms of Adventurous Love? I don't really know about any of these; they seem kind of shallow and lame.

"I want to hear anything!" Hisui-chan said

"I got it, but I want to enjoy what I read!" I mentioned it to her.

Hisui-chan smiled at me, and she reached down, patting my head. "Onee-chan, you are thoughtful," she said.

I laughed at her; she is so cute, but still, what book should I read her? I ended up finding a fairytale book and got back to bed.

"I'm not a kid!!!" She cried

"Come on, it's just a fairytale; besides, most fairytale endings are terrible and aren't what the movies make them out to be; there are no happy endings!" I said

"That is true," she said.

I began to read her some of the fairytales, and she really seemed to enjoy them. Then I began to tell her about the city mouse and the country mouse.

Hisui cleared her throat.

"What?" I questioned

"Would you be a city mouse or a country mouse?" She asked

"Well, I think I would be a city mouse, to be completely honest, because I like the bustling city, but I do enjoy seclusion." I said

"Well, we can't really live the country life; we have to deal with vampires and stuff. The world isn't really one where we can relax." Hisui-chan said

"Hisui, I will give you an option," I said.

"What?" She questioned

"I don't want to get you involved, so it's your choice; you can either join us in the battle against The Night of Wallachia or you can take refuge outside the town and you will be safe from battle," I said.

Hisui-chan glared at me angrily.

"Onee-chan I have already told you so long ago that no matter what, I will side with you. I am not going to leave your side. We are siblings. We are stronger together. We have something to prove. We want to stop The Night of Wallachia together. We want to atone to Akina!!" Hisui-chan said

"Yes, but you will be in harm's way," I said to her.

"It doesn't matter!!!" She yelled

"Why not?" I asked.

"We have to win; we have to beat this; we have to save the night; we have to right all the wrongs!!!" She yelled

This was the most emotion I have heard in a while. This was crazy.

"What is this?" I asked.

She tilted her head. "Are you okay?" She asked

I laughed at what she had asked. I am fine. "Look, you're smiling!" I said

She looked at me, and then she noticed she was smiling. I really liked it; it was really cute, to be honest.

"Alright, I'll stop smiling then!" She said I suddenly extended my hand, "huh?" She questioned

"Fist bump me..." I said she did what I wanted, so I smirked, "Hisui-chan will win no matter what!"

She nodded at my statement. No matter what it takes, we have to win for my future, for her future, for Akiha's future, and for everyone's future!

What else is there? What else are we fighting for other than survival? We don't care about the betterment of society; we don't at all. That isn't how it works.

We aren't here to help the world; we are here to do our own thing and protect what we want to protect.

"Let's vow on it!" Hisui-chan said

"That is what we are doing??" I said

"Oh yeah!" She laughed

She is too funny, honestly, and cute, but I keep saying that, but it really is true!

What is the thing we want when we save the night, though? What is my goal?

Revenge isn't on the table, and I don't have any large goals like Sion-Chan...

Do I want to be satisfied just by being a maid, or do I want more?

"Kohaku-chan..." Hisui-chan said

"Eh!?" I was shocked as she said my name with the chan honorific.

"Let's see the sunflowers bloom." She said it to me calmly.

The sun flowers...

"Yes, let's let those bloom; we will live to see them, right!?" I yelled

"We always do!!" Hisui-chan cried out.

Something simple like seeing sunflowers makes me happy. That is my goal, which is kind of lacking on the forefront, but I'm a simple girl, and I don't need much. "No matter what!" I shouted

"I agree we need to get stronger. Though war is close, we can't let everything up until now be a waste. We can't use righting our wrongs as our reason to fight. We are past; we have to show the world that we have a reason to still be living!" Hisui-chan said

She was right. I need to prove that I deserve to be here.
