CHAPTER THREE

"West meet the East"

After the Banquet, the Royal family invites the Sons for tea. Eon Jin make sure that no one can see Muk. Her father will be mad if he know that Muk is with her that time.

"I hope you had a great time, General Son and your children as well." The King said. General Son smile as well as his two sons. "Thank You for the wonderful dinner, Your Majesty... It's a pleasure to join the Royal family in an extravagant dinner." General Son said. The King smile and look at the two sons of him. "Commander Son Il Woo and Commander Son Joo Meok... You inherit your father's skill on winning a war. Im so proud of you both." The King said. Il Woo and Joo Meok make a bow, "Thank You, Your Majesty..." The two said. "We're promise to always give our best for you and our kingdom." Il Woo said. Together with the Queen Dowager and Queen Han Soo, the King is happy to have the three great soldiers.

"Oh!" Eon Jin said when Muk suddenly slip on her hands. "Eotteoke!!" She whispered. Joo Meok look at her and notice her. Eon Jin try to find Muk under the table. "Aigoo... Muk!" She whispered.

"Ahhh!!!!" Tae Pyung shouted. All of them look at to him. All of them shock when Tae Pyung suddenly stood up and run towards to Chi Su and there's a rabbit that keep following him. Eon Jin and Joo Meok got their eyes widen when they saw Muk. "Why there's a rabbit here inside?!" Tae Pyung said. Eon Jin immediately stood up and walk towards to them. She pick Muk, "I thought I lost you, Muk... Are you okay?" She said. "Yah! How dare you to bring a rabbit here?" Tae Pyung said. Eon Jin look at him. "Yah! Be thankful to Muk, I'll never get bored at the dinner earlier because of him." She said.

"Son Eon Jin!" General Son called. Eon Jin bite her lips and look at her father. "I'm sorry Your Highness for the rude behaviour of my daughter." General Son said to Tae Pyung. "Your Highness?" Eon Jin murmured. "I'm sorry Your Majesty... I'll promise to teach her a lesson when we come back home." General Son said to the King. Eon Jin got worry about his father's safety because of what she did. She really don't know that Tae Pyung is the Crown Prince. She immediately went infront of the King, Queen and Queen Dowager and bend on her knees as she take a bow. "I'm sorry for what I did, Your Majesties..." She said. "Please don't punish my father... I'm the one who should take the punishment because of my mistakes." She added. "Eon Jin!" General Son said. Il Woo and Joo Meok got worried on their sister. Tae Pyung stood up straight and go back to his seat. "That's right you must get punish on making this mess." Tae Pyung said. The Queen Dowager laughing hard and she got all their attention but Eon Jin remains her eyes on the ground. "What's your name, young lady?" The Queen Dowager asked. Eon jin look up and look to the Queen Dowager. "My name is Son Eon Jin, Your ROYAL Highness... I'm the third and only daughter of General Son Tae Jin and Son Cheon Myeong." She answered. The King and Queen  let the Queen Dowager to lead the conversation. General Son and his two Sons remain quiet. The Queen Dowager look at the rabbit. "Is he your pet?" She asked. Eon Jin look at to Muk and hide it with her two hands, "Yes, You Royal Highness..." She said. "Tell me Lady Eon Jin, are you had fun at the banquet, earlier?" The Queen Dowager asked. Eon Jin look at the Royals and look at her father on her side. Her two brothers gave him a signal to control her words. "Lady Eon Jin.... You can tell me what you really feel..." The Queen Dowager said when she noticed that Eon Jin hesitate to speak. "To be honest, I'm not used to that kind of party, Your Royal Highness. That's why I bring Muk for me not to get sleepy and bored. I'm sorry if I cause a scene today...." Eon Jin answered. The King and Queen and The Queen Dowager amused on how brave she is in expressing her true feelings. The Queen Dowager smile. "Oh! Can I know why you didn't want a feast just like earlier?" She asked.  "Is it okay if I'll tell my opinion, Your Royal Highness?" She said. "Sure, go ahead... I'm listening..." The Queen Dowager said. Eon Jin take a deep breath before she speak. "I love the foods and how it prepared. I also love the ambiance but... The topic is all about politics and war..." She said. "Eon Jin..." General Son called her for her to stop. "Let her be, General Son..." The King said. "Aside from winning in the battlefield, the people of Silla needs a facilities that can provide their health needs. Especially the people who couldn't afford to buy a medicine for their sickness." She said. The King amazed by her and also Queen Han Soo smile. The Queen Dowager touch by her answer. She's right, this Lady has a compassion for people and she must be the Crown Princess of Silla.

Tae Pyung silently listening to the conversation between his grandmother and Lady Eon Jin. He amazed by her braveness to speak for what she trully feel but his smile faded when he remember that she is the daughter of General Son. "You're opinion was right and acceptable however.... Your father needs to take his punishment for not raising you right. You didn't respect me as the Crown Prince of Silla." Tae Pyung said. Eon Jin got scared because of what Tae Pyung's said. She look at to him and she saw him smirked. "Your Highness, I'm sorry for my rudeness... I'll take the punishment instead of my father. It's all my fault, I must the one who get punish." Eon Jin said and her eyes started to filled with tears. "Your Majesty, I'm the one who brought the rabbit so please... Let me take the punishment instead of my father and sister. "Joo Meok said. Eon Jin look at her as she shake her head. General Son let out a deep sigh.

"I will slide this one if you agree on my request, General Son..." The Queen Dowager said. Eon Jin and her father look at her. "List your daughter's name in the selection process for the Crown Princess and no one will get punish tonight..." She said. Queen Han Soo try not to make laugh. The Queen Dowager finally see an alibi to make General Son agree to the Crown Princess selection, In her thoughts.

"Your Royal Highness..." Tae Pyung called. The Queen Dowager look at him. "Let them decide their fate, Crown Prince..." The Queen Dowager said. "What do you think, Tae Jin? I think Your daughter is the best candidate for the Crown Princess position." The King said.

"I'll take the punishment-" General Son will about to speak when Eon Jin speak.

"I will list my name on the selection process, just like what you requested Your Royal Highness..." Eon Jin said.

"Eon Jin!" Her father and two brothers called.

The King with Queen Han Soo and the Queen Dowager smile. "Did you mean it, Lady Eon Jin?" The Queen Dowager said.

Eon Jin look at his father. She didn't want to live in the palace but she needs to join for the safety of her father and two brothers.

Tae Pyung is waiting for her response. He didn't want to, if there will be a Crown Princess it will be Lady Sora not her, in his thoughts.

"Yes, Your Royal Highness... I will list my name in the Crown Princess selection in exchange of my father and my two brothers not to get punish..." She said.

Queen Han Soo loom at to the Queen Dowager and she saw in her eyes how she enjoying her conversation with Lady Eon Jin.

"Arasso... I'll take your answer..." The Queen Dowager said  and look to King Tae Shin.

"Let's forget what happened tonight.." King Tae Shin said.

Tae Pyung get annoyed and gave Eon Jin a death glared while Eon Jin is still looking at the ground as her tears fall from her eyes.
