In the embrace of bliss, where love once soared,
A whisper of doubt, my heart it adored.
Contentment's flame, now flickers low,
As a realization within me grows.

Family's bonds, a heavy weight,
A choice that frightened, filled with fate.
For in my heart, a restless flame,
Yearns for dreams and goals, to claim my name.

My current love, so kind and true,
His eyes reflect the hopes we knew.
But time's relentless march, I cannot deny,
Reveals a truth I must not defy.

I'm not yet ready for life's grand stage,
To raise a family, to turn that page.
My heartstrings tremble, torn between,
The love I feel and the dreams unseen.

His heart may shatter, his dreams may dim,
I fear I'll hurt him with shattered dreams.
A selfish act, perhaps, but one I must take,
To find my purpose, my destiny's wake.

I long to explore life's vast embrace,
To grow and learn, to find my place.
But guilt gnaws at me, a heavy weight,
Leaving behind the love that fate has made.

With trembling hands, I bid farewell,
To the love we shared, the bond we fell.
May time heal his wounds, may understanding rise,
As I embark on a solitary prize.

Though I may wander far, his memory I'll hold,
A bittersweet reminder of a love untold.
For in my heart, a part of him will stay,
A testament to the choice I made that day.
