Side Story 1

A/N: Basically, side stories are random scenarios that I wanted to write or just an idea that randomly pops up in my head, but probably won't fit into the main story itself. Anyway, I'll try to update the next chapter soon... Can't believe I fell sick right before school starts. T_T

These scenarios occurred some time ago, when Michiko was still in the Anbu, and Asuma just came back.

Michiko was in the Academy for a mission. She was standing by the window in the office, smiling as the kids run around, playing and having fun.

"Michiko."

This voice... It can't be...

Michiko freezes for a moment, before turning around to look at the one who called her.

"Nii-... Nii-chan?" Michiko could not believe it.

Asuma had just reported to the Third Hokage before coming to the Academy. The Third Hokage told him that Michiko was here. He opened his arms, and Michiko gladly jumped onto him.

"I'm not dreaming, am I?" Michiko asked. She took a step back, taking a good look at him while grabbing his shoulders.

"I'm back. You're not dreaming." Asuma smiled.

"Welcome back, Nii-chan!" Michiko gave him another big hug.

"Asuma, you're finally back..." Kurenai smiled, feeling really happy that her lover is back.

"Sorry to keep you waiting." Asuma smiled sheepishly.

"Hai hai, I'm still here..." Michiko teased.

"Haha, sorry Michiko." The two of them apologized in unison. They looked at each other and smiled. Michiko can't help but feel elated.

"How has it been for you, Nii-chan?"

"Well, you know I am part of the Twelve Guardian Ninja... A lot has happened, and I've decided to come back. So... Anything happened when I'm not around?"

"Yes, something serious happened. A few months ago, Michiko-" Kurenai was cut off by Michiko.

"Well, it was nothing! Everything is still the same."

Asuma stared at Michiko, and she averted his gaze. "Tell me."

Michiko hinted Kurenai not to tell Asuma about the incident, but Asuma insisted. She sighed, and gave up.

"A few months ago, Michiko was seriously wounded during a mission and was in a coma for three weeks." Kurenai told Asuma.

"What?! Nobody told me anything. How are you now?" Asuma asked worriedly.

"I've recovered fully. Don't worry!"

"You know... Maybe you're not suited to be in the Anbu..."

"Actually... I've considered leaving... But..."

"I know. Kakashi, right?"

"E-Eh? Hmm." Michiko nodded, with her cheeks slightly blushed.

Should I tell Nii-chan about Kakashi and I...

"Why are you blushing?" Kurenai smiled, seemingly hinting something.

Kurenai nee-chan knew!

"Well, actually... We... Erm... We're together." Michiko turned her head one side, blushing really hard.

"E-Eh?! When did the two of you...?" Asuma was shocked. Kurenai was smiling at Michiko, giving her a "I knew it" look.

"W-Well... After I discharged from the hospital..." Michiko mumbled. But the two of them can hear her clearly.

Kurenai continued prompting Michiko to talk more about how she and Kakashi ended up together. Michiko was getting really embarrassed having to tell them everything. Well, most of it.

"I'm gonna beat you this time!"

"No, you don't. The other time you're just lucky, Michiko."

"W-What! No, I beat you fair and square!"

"Shall we try again then?" Kakashi smirked.

Michiko grinned as she charged at Kakashi. She threw punches at him, but Kakashi blocked it. She turned around, using the pole nearby as a stepping stone, Michiko jumped up high, and turned around with a kick. Kakashi blocked the attack again.

This time, it was his turn. As he squatted in order to duck Michiko's kick, he sweeps his leg, trying to kick her, but she jumped and dodged instead. The two continued exchanging punches and kicks, with neither one giving in. Both of them jumped backwards, panting heavily.

"Looks like this is a draw." Michiko smiled.

"Yeah."

The two of them then took a break. Both of them were chatting and somehow Michiko ended up in Kakashi's embrace. They were getting really cozy when...

"Kakashi! Let's have a due-" Guy jumped out from nowhere, wanting to challenge Kakshi. Kakshi and Michiko were surprised and jumped away from each other as they heard Guy's voice.

Guy was standing there, gaping at the two.

"W-What-"

"What is it, Guy?" Kakashi asked, looking annoyed and Michiko was staring elsewhere.

"Y-You-"

"..."

"K-K-Kakashi! L-L-Let's have a duel!" Guy stuttered. He was still shocked from the sight of Kakashi and Michiko embracing. Kakashi sighed as he looked at Michiko, who simply shrugged. Kakashi had no choice but to accept Guy's challenge.
