Lylah's POV

"Oh, we don't have any, I think I have to go get some, and you have to come with me." He said.

"Do I have to?" I asked. He nodded.

"If my mom sees you she'll have you for dinner." He said.

"Huh, didn't know your mom was into chicks." I giggled.

"Shut up, you know what I mean" he smiled. I looked down at my robe, wait, this isn't my robe. I looked down to see a t-shirt and a pair of shorts that weren't mine either.

"When did I get these on?" I asked. I mean it's not like Tate was a rapist or anything, I was just a little creeped out.

"Your clothes were soaking wet.. I... I ... I didn't see anything I swear. I mean I saw plenty, but I didn't do anything. I was just trying to help get you warm, you-you were freezing." He stuttered. I laughed.

"It's fine Tate, thank you." I said.

"Anytime." He smirked mischievously.

"Come on, let's go." I said. "After I get dressed." I continued. Tate took my clothes off his dresser.

"I washed and dried them for you." He smiled.

"Thank you." He stayed there, smiling at me.

"You can go now, I kinda have to get dressed." I said.

"Right, sorry." He said and walked out. I put on my clothes from the night before. Tate knocked.

"Come in." I said.

"We gotta go, quickly and quietly." He whispered.

"Why?" I asked.

"My mother is passed out drunk on the couch, she's a light sleeper." He said.

"Shit. Ok let's go, mission is initiated, target acquired." I said sarcastically. Tate whisper-laughed. We tipped toed out the door. His mom is good looking for her age.  We let out our air from holding our breath once we got off the porch. As we walked down the steps I casually held Tate's hand. He blushed and looked away. I smiled.

"We don't have to get food, let's just go hang out, it is Saturday after all." I said.

"Yeah, but I'm hungry." Tate said.

"Ok then we will get food I guess." I said. We walked to the little coffee shop a couple blocks up. He ordered me a vanilla latte and himself a black coffee.

"Matches my soul." He said. I giggled and we drank our coffee. After we were finished we went to beach. We sat on the damp sand and talked.

"I'm gonna be somebody Ly, I really am." Tate said.

"I believe it." I said.

"People are going to remember me." He said.

"I know I will."I smiled at him.

"What are we Lylah?" He asked.

"What?" I replied.

"You know like, what are we, friends, more than that?"  He asked. I blushed a bit and Tate flashed a sweet smile. I leaned in and grabbed his face gently. He and I leaned in and kissed. It was like nothing else in the world mattered. We pulled away from each other.

"Does that answer your question?" I ask.

"I don't know yet." He smirked and leaned in to kiss me more.
