It had been 2 weeks since Skye had returned to New York after taking part in London Fashion Week, and already she was banging her head against the wall with boredom.
Other than the odd audition here and there she'd not been doing much at all, and was ready to get back to work.
Thinking back to when she was simultaneously modelling and acting on Gossip Girl she remembered how she would have killed to have some rest time. Now she just wanted to get back out there.
The highlight so far during her time off was having the opportunity to catch up on all the TV she had missed. She was now up to date on everything, the Kardashian's, Vampire Diaries, Big Bang. Yep, Skye Parker is a huge party girl, not.
"Hello," Skye answered when her cell phone rang one morning, seeing from the familiar number on the screen that it was her agent.
"Hi doll."
"What's up?" Skye asked with a yawn, looking up at the clock and seeing it was only 7am.
"I have a job offer for you. It's not your usual thing and it's super short notice. It's good money though and will be seen worldwide," Skye's agent Michelle reeled off quickly.
"It definitely sounds appealing. What exactly is it?"
"A music video."
"Who for?" Skye asked, her interested peaked.
"Sam Smith."
"Are you serious? I love him."
"Yes, he saw your tweet saying you were in New York and he got his management to give us a call. He's in town and personally requested you."
Skye couldn't help but think that there was a but to this. It sounded like the perfect job. It was in the city, would be quick, paid well and was for the amazing Sam Smith. He was one of, if not her favourite singer.
"That's crazy. I can't believe he wants me."
"Skye there is a downside," her agent revealed eventually, Skye not surprised in the slightest that this was the case.
"I knew that was coming. What is it?"
"Sam has had to cut his New York trip short due to commitments back in the UK. It means he only has today and tomorrow to shoot the video."
"So that's why you called me so early?" What a relief that that's all it was.
"Sam and his team understand if you say no. They know what short notice it is."
"I'll do it," Skye grinned from ear to ear, jumping out of bed and doing an excited dance in front of her bedroom mirror.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course I'm sure. I'm going to be in a Sam Smith music video. I get to work with Sam Smith. I'm not passing this up for anything."
"Ok, ok. Calm down fan girl. They need you at the location at 9.30am. I'll text over all the details." Michelle couldn't help laughing when she heard how excited her star client was. This girl was unlike any other celeb she'd worked with in the past. A unique, one of a kind. That was one of the reasons so many people loved her.
"Thanks Chelle. I can't wait."
