After last weeks shock news that Season 8 of The Vampire Diaries would be its last, we caught up with the shows hottest on and off screen couple Ian and Skye Somerhalder.
Discussing the end of the show, their new journey into parenthood and what lies ahead for them after TVD comes to an end, the happily married couple were more than willing to dish the goss.
Ian, who tied the knot with co-star Skye last September insists he's most happy "every morning when I wake up."
"Every single day, look who I get to wake up with," he tells EW as he gestures towards his blushing wife. "I have Skye at my side, Brooke in her cot. It's pure bliss."
Reacting to the reveal of TVD coming to an end, Skye was very vocal in voicing her love for their fans all around the world. "When we announced it we were so scared of the fans response. The show is more successful than ever, and being shown all around the globe. It was never an issue of quit or get cancelled. After months of discussions and plot meetings it just naturally happened that way. The fans have shown us so much love and incredible amounts of support. It's amazing really. At the end of the day they're just as much apart of the show as we are. There would be no show without them. We're going through this together. It's going to be a huge change for all of us."
