Victoria's POV

I'm in California now with Jake. I have my own house and he has his own as well. Last time I heard from the others, Kyle and Hannah were doing well, Haleigh had a bump on her stomach, Emma and Aiden had gotten more serious, and Alex and Tyler were doing well too.

Jake and I were getting our stuff for school and were officially girlfriend and boyfriend, which makes me ecstatic every time I think about it.

**

After we're done shopping, we head to my house. He walks me in so I can unload my stuff. After we're done we talk for awhile.

"I'm so glad you came to California," he says, nuzzling his head in my neck as we sit on the couch.

"Me too," I giggle.

"You should meet my parents."

"That'd be cool! How about tomorrow at dinner time?"

"Okay." He looks up at me, and I get lost in his brown eyes. His lips connect with mine gently and he kisses me passionately.

Everything feels so perfect. In my eyes, Jake was perfect. We were perfect.

Our lips move in sync and he deepens the kiss. Our tongues battle for dominance. He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me onto his lap, making me straddle him. He groans in my mouth, causing my hormones to go crazy. I tangle my fingers in his hair and pull him closer to me. His lips leave mine and he trails kisses down my neck. I need to stop, but I can't. He looks into my eyes.

"You want to take this to your room or do you want me to leave?" He asks. I ponder the thought. I guess it wouldn't hurt to do this.

"To my room."

Tyler's POV

I've been with Alex for who knows how long, and I want to make her mine. I would have proposed to her earlier, but we were still too dependent on our parents. I drive to her house, wanting to ask her father for permission.

I knock on the door, taking a long breath. Mr. Carter answers.

"Hey Tyler. Alex isn't here, she's at Haleigh's."

"Actually I came to talk to you," I reply, scared out of my mind. His features become solemn and he lets me come in, gesturing for me to sit down.

"So, what did you want to talk about?" Mr. Carter asks me, clearly already knowing.

"I would like your permission to ask your daughter to marry me," I say, my heart feeling like it was about to pound out of my chest. Mr. Carter didn't say anything for a minute, but finally answers.

"I give you my permission. I know y'all have been together for a long time and I can see that you make her happy, and that she loves you." His voice cracks and he looks away briefly, blinking.

"Thank you. I love her too and want to make her happy. She's everything to me."

"Me too," he whispers. He clears his throat and stands up.

"Well, if that's all, you probably should get going. I know you're a good man Tyler. Just don't hurt my baby," He shakes my hand and leads me to the door.

"Never," I answer. I walk out the door and get in my car.

I sigh in relief when I close the door and fist pump with a 'yes'.

I'm so happy that he said yes, not that I expected the opposite. I guess it just felt good to get his permission.

I drive to Haleigh's and knock on the door. Haleigh answers the door, Alex by her side.

"Hey, Tyler. Come in!" She says, gesturing me inside. I go in and immediately kiss Alex.

"Hey babe," she says, breaking our kiss.

"Hey. I was wondering if you wanted to go shoot some," I say, doing my best to cover up my excitement.

"Yeah! That sounds fun! Is that okay with you Haleigh?" She asks. Haleigh nods, looking at me with a knowing look and a smile, which I return.

We walk out to my truck and listen to music the whole way there. I couldn't help but stare at Alex. Whether she's all dressed up or just wearing her long hair down messy without any makeup on, she's gorgeous, and I've never seen anyone as beautiful as her.

When we get to the gun club we grab our guns and everything else and head down to five stand. We shot two boxes each before I wanted to take her to the place that I was going to propose.

We walk back up to the clubhouse and I grab the ring box and get on the four wheeler.

"Let's go for a ride."

She just smiles and gets on the back, wrapping her arms around my waist.

I drive out to the field that I wanted to go to, turning off the four wheeler and taking Alex's hand.

"Where are we going?" She asks me.

"You'll see," I answer, a smile on my face.

We walk out to a clearing with a huge oak tree in the center that I knew Alex would love. It was just a gorgeous setting.

Alex looks around in awe. I intertwine my fingers with hers and lead her to the base of the tree.

I pull out the ring box and get down on one knee. I smile up at her as she covers her mouth, smiling underneath with tears streaming down her face.

"Alex, I love you so much more than you could ever imagine, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I don't care what happens or what we'll do, as long as I'm with you. You're absolutely perfect, and I thank God every day that He blessed me with you. So, Alexis Marie Carter, will you marry me?"

Alex's POV

I am so shocked with excitement and happiness. Tyler is on one knee, smiling up at me, waiting for my answer. I nod my head.

"Yes. Yes I will marry you." I laugh joyfully.

He gets up quickly and kisses me, twirling me around. I laugh as he sets me back on the ground, pressing his lips onto mine again.

"I love you so much," I say, overcome with joy.

Tyler takes out the ring and slides it on my finger. It's simple, but gorgeous. It was a silver band with three small diamonds in it and had a little sparkle.

"It's beautiful. I love it," I whisper, looking up at Tyler. He smiles back at me.

"Just like you." Tyler looks into my eyes deeply, and I couldn't help but blush. "I love you so much and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you," he murmurs. I can't even say how happy I was in that moment.

He presses his lips onto mine. I wrap my arms around his neck, savoring every moment. He wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him. After a minute I break it gently, my eyes locking with his.

"How could I have found someone so perfect?" I ask, smiling.

"That's a question I should be asking," Tyler replies, smiling down at me. I kiss him once more.

"I got such good pictures!" I hear Haleigh squeal.

I grin, looking up at Tyler. "You had Haleigh take pictures?"

He just smiles.

Haleigh squeals again and runs up to me, hugging me tightly. "I'm so excited for y'all!"

"Me too," I answer, pulling away from Haleigh. I must be the happiest person alive right now. I can't believe that I'm engaged to Tyler. It was like a dream come true.
