Newsies cast x reader

[Josh Burrage]

Updated on 1/23/23 - Do you guys like the fact I am going through and updating the older chapters? I just feel like they deserve to be better for you guys.

Third Person:

Travel days were either fun or they weren't, today wasn't a fun day in the eyes of Y/N. Getting up early to pack your stuff and sit on a bus for hours was not fun. Y/N was already seated on the bus, they sat in a middle seat knowing Joshua and Ben will want to sit next to me. Y/N wrapped their blanket around their body as the rest of the cast filled on the bus. Ben and Josh both took a seat next to me, my heart fluttered while looking at Josh. Y/N rubbed their eyes, thier glasses moving on their face. 

Y/N POV:

"Tired?" Joshua asked me

"Yeah, my insomnia was you know insomnia. I couldn't sleep." I answered yawning

"Well, you should try and get some sleep." Ben answered

I yawned again, Josh wrapped his arm around me and pulled me into his side. I sighed and laid my head on his shoulder. While travel days often sucked it was good to know that I had people that care about me enought to take care of me when I am not able to take care of myself. Putting in a headphone I softly listened to music, the music with the  feeling of the bus slowly put me to sleep.

Third Person:

Joshua noticed Y/N had falled asleep, carefuly sliding off his jacket he drapped it over their shoulders. Joshua couldn't help but smile at the sight of them, Josh and Y/N had become close friends in the spand of the last few months. Joshua considered them like a little sibling, they often hung out a lot before shows, after shows, no show days. The two had a strong bond which often caused people to think the two were dating. The feelings between the two parties were the same, they liked the other but never said anything out of fear of ruining the bond that they had. Josh loved Y/N personality, the way they could make anyone smile just by being themself. And Y/N loved how Josh could easily let his inner child take over, they loved everything about him. Ben was often the middle man when it came to the two of them. He knew how both Josh and Y/N felt but couldn't get any of them to confess how they felt.

It drove Ben insane seeing how madily in love the two were, the whole cast could see it. The cast is waiting for the day the two finally get together. As Y/N slept, Josh himself felt himself drifting off to sleep. Upon falling asleep Ben couldn't help but shake his head. It upset Ben that its been months of both parties flirting but nothing has happened. Even with the loud bus the two slept peacfully unaware of the noise going on in the small space. Y/N would occasinally shift in their sleep, that action caused them to lay further into Josh's body. It had been hours and no one dared to wake them up. Once the bus reached their location that is when Ben dared to wake them up. Ben softly shook Josh awake. Josh slowly woke up, noticing the sleeping person on his shoulder, he gently shook them awake. Y/N stirred slightly, Josh smiled as they opened their E/C eyes.

"We made it to the hotel. Let's go, you'll get better sleep inside." Josh spoke with a sweet tone

"Thanks, did I really sleep for over three hours?" Y/N asked looking between Josh and Ben

"Yeah." Ben answered

Y/N yawned and rubbed their eyes "I wanna go back to bed."

"How about this, you can. However, you need to eat something first." Josh said 

"Fine" Y/N answered stomping their feet slightly like a child

The three headed up to their room, Ben, Josh, and Y/N always share a room with one another. It was fun for them, Ben normally got a bed to himself while Josh and Y/N share. They tossed their stuff down, Y/N laid down on the bed. Sleep already started to overtake them. Josh noticed and chuckled slightly, sitting down next to them, Josh poked at their sides. Y/N squirmed, they tried to get away from the males pokes. Y/N scooched closer to the edge of the bed, Josh moved getting closer. Y/N moved once again, however they didn't relise they were on the edge. As Y/N moved back, they fell off the bed. Y/N hit the ground with a loud thud. Josh broke out into a laughing fit. Ben followed soon after. 

Y/N got up embarrenced, grabbing their backpack they head out the door. The two males stopped laughting and followed Y/N. The two walked the unfamiliar streets of this town. They found a small diner. The three took a seat, Josh sat down next to Y/N. Y/N scrolled through their phone, suddenly a slight weight was placed on Y/N knee. Glancing down the weight belonged to a hand and that hand belonged to Josh. Y/N felt their face heat up. Josh noticed Y/N face turn red, he smiled knowing he could make them blush. The bunch ordered their food, they ate and goofed around like friends do. Y/N sipped on their milkshake and noticed Josh looking at them.

"Do I have something on my face?" Y/N asked

"Yeah" Josh answered with a laugh

"Where?" Y/n asked wiping around their face in hopes to get whatever it was off

"Right there" Josh said as he used his finger and wiped whipped cream onto Y/N nose. Y/N wipped the whip cream off their nose.

Y/N laughed, Josh's heart fluttered upon hearing their laugh. Heading back to the hotel Y/N was tired. Thought the nap from earlier had given them energy to make it through dinner, Y/N wanted to do nothing but go back to bed. Getting into the room, Y/N flopped down onto the bed. Josh laid down next to them. The exsution of the day hit both of them like a truck. Y/N and Josh fell asleep. Ben smiled at the sight of Josh pulling Y/N closer to his body. Ben knew it was going to take time but the two of you would end up together in time comes.
