[Max Casella]

Y/N POV

I was running down the streets of Manhattan, I picked up my dress as I ran. I'm late to school and my parents and my teacher are gonna to kill me. I don't even like school if it was up to me I wouldn't go I would just leave since my parents want me to be little ms perfect. As I was running I ended up running into a boy.

"Sorry" I said while fixing my dress

"it's okay, were are you going in such a rush?" The boys asked me

"Oh, well I'm kind of late for school and my parents are going to kill me" I said

"Oh you're a school gorl. Names Racetrack but you can call me Race" He said

"Y/N" I answered him

I smiled as he started to play with his hat.

"So what are you doing today?" I asked him

"Nothing, I finished selling" Race said

"Wanna hang, I don't need to go to school" I said "I hate that place"

Race looked slightly shocked but soon smiled and grabbed my hand, he grabbed my hand and we started to run. I don't know where we are going but I know I made the right choice. He pulled me alone the streets and through a few alleys. We stopped when we got into central park. 

"So, what made you wanna be so rebelus today?" Race asked me

"I don't know but all I know is that I ain't regret it one bit" I told him

"That's good, now lets have some fun" Race said

I nodded my head and followed him, we got to a small play ground and I went and sat on the swings. Race sat down next to me, I know that this is going to end up being a whole Romeo and Juliet problem because I know I am already starting to fall for this boy. I know we might not see each other after today but I don't care.

"So. You got friends that will worry about you since you aren't at school?" Race asked me

"I don't have friends. Never did" I answered him

"What if I take you to meet my friends well more family" Race said

"I would love that" I answered him

Race got up and he took my hand he pulled me close to him to the point where our lips were almost touching. Before anything could happen I looked down at the ground, Race responded by taking my face in his hand. I knew I was blushing like crazy even if I can't see my face.

"You now you are the most beautiful goil I have ever seen" Race said while looking at my eyes

"Well then you haven't seen very many girls" I answered

"Sun shine, I live on the streets. I see goils everyday but you are something else" He said

"Really" I answered

"Yes, now lets go meet my friends they will love you" He said

I nodded my head as I followed Race, we walked down the streets of Manhattan then I saw my parents. I ran up beside Race and took his hat and I placed it on my head. I know if I am see then my parents will do two of things one send Race to jail for no reason and two lock me in my room for the rest of my life.

"I'll explain later just keep walking" I whispered

Race nodded before pulling me close to him, I blushed as we walked. Once we got to the place were Race lives he opened the door then followed me in. When I was inside I noticed that this place is really small, and this is not big enough for twenty some boys. As we walked deeper in some boys started to notice me and they just looked at me. I think Race could tell I was nervous cause he grabbed a hold of my hand.

"Race who is this?" I person asked

"This is my good friend Y/N" He said "Y/N this is Jack" 

I shook Jacks hand as he smiled at me, these people are so nice.

"I can tell by the way you are dressed that you are a family girl" Jack said

"Yeah, I am. I wish I wasn't though" I answered

"Why?" Race asked

Race's POV

"Well my parents expect me to be this perfect little girl and if I make one mistake they will yell at me. Also they expect so much from me because they are high class people I can't be myself dresses aren't who I am. I'm so sick of what they make me do, I can't stand it anymore" She said

I watched as Y/N broke down into tears, I watched as Jack's eyes softened as she cried. I pulled her into my arms and she sobbed. I wrapped my arms around her pulling her into my chest, one hand is wrapped around her waist and the other placed on her head. I know I just met this girl today but I want to protect her no matter what.

"Is there anyway we can help you?" Jack asked

"No, I have tried everything I could" She cried "Except"

"Except what?" I asked

"What if I ran away or just rebelled against my parents" She said

"Woah. Those are a bit extrema" Jack said

"No it's not. Can I at least stay here for a few days. Please. I already skipped school I don't need to face that wrath" She said

I knew Y/N was being dead serious because she started to play with her skirt.

"Okay, you can stay here but you don't leave the lodging house because it is not safe for a girl newsie" Jack said

I watched as Y/N's face lit up with pure joy.

"Thank you Jack" She cried

She pulled Jack into a hug then pulled me into a hug. I held Y/N tight as she hugged me and soon we pulled away, I noticed there was a light blush on her face when we pulled away. I pulled Y/n up stairs and into the bed room, she looked at all the beds and she seemed nervous.

"Only if you want you can share a bed with me cause we don't have any extra" Race said

"I'd be okay with that" She mumbled

I smiled as he face turned bright red and she fumbled with her ring on her finger.

"The rest of the boys should be here soon. I'm warning you that it can get really rowdy and they like to play poker." I explained

"This sounds fun." She cheered

~TIME SKIP~

Its getting late and now it is the moments I have been fearing, we are both ready to go to bed. We climbed into bed and I have no idea how but we started to cuddle and it was a great night.
