Part Two
S2-62 Pounce

Incessant, light tapping on my cheek stirred me up from unconsciousness. I forced my heavy eyelids open, already feeling the remnants of dizziness starting to dragged me back to its grip. It took a minute for my eyes to focus completely.

"Thank God you finally come to. What happened?!" Loki's voice ruffled my already drifting thoughts. I glanced at him, fighting off the dizziness.

I opened my mouth to speak but then the car suddenly stopped. I stared at Loki questioningly, noting the slight widening of his eyes. He cursed and was suddenly putting the car in reverse.

Frowning, I glance up front and froze immediately when I spotted Roarke not a feet away, marching -no jogging towards us. If the scowl on his face didn't give off the vibe that he was livid, then his black eyes and the tips of his canines peeking under his upper lip made it more obvious.

The light-headedness was vanquished replaced by a sense of trepidation. I stared in alarm at Loki.

"F@ck, he's mad as hell. " Loki spat, fumbling with the wheel as he still tried to turn the car in reverse. I glance back up front and felt my heart jumped out of my chest.

He's gone!

Where-

My thoughts ceased to process as the car door on my side was suddenly ripped away, like it was a piece of paper. I shrieked loudly as I was pulled out of the moving car in a blink.

"Holy shit!" Loki cursed loudly.

A loud, angry growl drowned out every sound. I cringed as the sound seemed to reverberate on me.

My heart beat was going on a mile a minute. D@mn it! He's furious!

The car stopped. I could see Loki fumbling with his seat belt while I stood shock still as a statue. My back was pressed against something warm -hot even, and solid. I could feel hot breath on the side of my neck.

An arm was holding me securely by my waist. I held a breath as Roarke growled again and suddenly I was airborne. Breathe swooshed out my lips as I was slung over his shoulder as if I weigh close to nothing. Roarke began to stride away, breaking off into a jog, that was turning into a sprint as the seconds ticked by. I raised my head to glance at Loki.

"Help me!" I screamed but Loki stood unmoving, rubbing the back of his neck and looked torn between feeling pissed and worried.

I curled my hands to tight fists and rammed it continuously against his back. He didn't even grunt and frankly, it felt like it did me more damage than what I inflicted. He was hard all over.

"Put me down! " I wiggled on his grasp. He didn't respond and instead ran faster, until our surroundings was a blur of greens and browns. Blood was rushing to my head and my body feels bruised from being jostled around his hold.

I bit out a curse.

It felt like an eternity when he finally slowed to a jog. I was thankful since it feels like I'm about to empty the contents of my stomach.

The sun had set and already the red orange sky was starting to get swallowed with deep violet, bleeding to black.

"Where the hell are you taking me?!" I croaked, pushing myself from his back to lift my upper body and looked around. A thicket of oak, willow and shrubs surrounded either side of the narrow path we were taking. We're definitely deep in the forest.

By now, Roarke was just walking. I craned my head to take a look at where we are going and spied a small cabin, in the middle of a clearing, surrounded by pine trees that tower over the forest. The sound of rushing water beckoned my attention to the opposite of the cabin and I found a small stream inconspicuously hidden behind overgrown ferns.
