Chapter 2: I Kissed an Angel

 Niall wakes up in the middle of the night as the grumbling of his stomach takes precedence. As he is walking downstairs, a noise coming from the living room piques his interest so he decides to take a peek and see what's going on. He's quite surprised to see Zayn sitting on the couch in front of the television, watching some midnight news or something and holding cereal bowl on his hand.

The darker boy turns around, quite surprised to see Niall standing couple of feet away from him. His rosy cheeks accentuates his adorable face but he tried his best not for Niall to notice that he's blushing. It's a good thing that the lights are off or else, the younger boy would've notice.

"What's up?" He almost squeaked, taking a spoonful from his cereal bowl.

Niall couldn't respond right away because he wasn't expecting to see Zayn all by himself in the middle of the living room. The blaring bright lights coming from the television, giving Zayn a darker silhouette of his entire body. Niall could trace every curve of Zayn, from his slightly formed biceps, from lifting the porcelain bowl in his hand, to his chiseled face. There's no way he could ignore the seductive vibe creeping from his entire body as if Zayn is undressing him.

"I was on my way to the kitchen," Niall cleared his throat, still distracted from the alluring gaze from Zayn.

"Do you want me to make you a sandwich?" Zayn asks.

Ever since that Niall admitted to the whole world that he is into boys, Zayn started to feel weird around Niall. Not in a weird way that he's homophobic because he's not. Weird in a sense of having unknown feelings that he never knew he had in the first place. He's got to admit that Niall is a one fine looking lad, with his adoring smile, cheerful personality, striking blue eyes, and blonde hair. Anyone could fall for Niall, no doubt about it. All Zayn wishes is that he could just turn off this feeling whenever Niall is around because he stutters like a school girl, wanting to be noticed by his crush.

"Uhm sure," Niall replied, sounding hesitant.

Zayn stood up from the sofa, dragging his feet across the tiled floors, carrying his cereal bowl. He couldn't help but to notice his irregular heartbeat, knowing Niall is walking behind him.

Walking back into the kitchen is so quiet that all they could hear is the sound of the ticking clock. Zayn didn't know if he should try at least having a small talk to the Irish lad. He hates this awkward feeling because he doesn't want Niall to find out that he's feeling awkward around him.

"The usual?" Zayn asks as soon as they reached the kitchen. He couldn't help but to laugh nervously.

"You know me so well," Niall smiles. His eyes crinkle, slightly fading from his face. Zayn couldn't help but to feel the intensity of the unknown feelings he had for the Irish lad. His irregular heartbeat became even more uneven, feeling the pink shade of blush creeping towards his cheeks.

"Are you okay, mate?" Niall asks, leaning his forehead against Zayn's, checking if the Bradford lad is sick or something. Zayn felt his breath hitched as soon as he realized what Niall has done. The short distance between them and the mint-fresh breath brushing against Zayn's flawless cheeks is very irresistible to Zayn to the point that he's questioning his own sanity, wondering if it's real or not.

He diverted his attention to something else, closing his eyes for a second before his urges take over and doing something that he would regret afterwards. But when he opened his eyes, the angelic face of the Irish lad was still there, confirming that he's not dreaming but it is actually happening. Before he could react, his own body does the talking for him by pressing his lips against the Niall's.

For the first time, he tasted the soft, moist lips that rocked his world!

He proved something at that moment that he kissed an angel.
