Jared swaggered into his first period, confidence practically glowing on his face.

He was wearing a beanie, along with a plaid shirt and a comfortable sweater. He'd even added a necklace he'd found in an old thrift store, just to spice up the outfit. He sat down, and waited for his 'rival' to show up.

As soon as Evan stepped foot into the classroom, Jared knew it would be a hard tie. Again.

Evan was wearing a pair of 'mom jeans' that somehow looked amazing on him, and had a tucked in baby pink shirt, with some band that no one knew. Jared could see the tops of Evans checkered socks poke out of his high tops, and sighed in defeat.

"Hey, Jared." Evan smiled, obviously eyeing up Jared's outfit. "Huh. Nice."

"Like what you see, hot stuff?" Jared asked, trying to make Evan flustered.

"No, I was just, I mean, not no, but like, ugh."

Jared chuckled. "So? Tie, or is there a winner for today?"

"Hmm. Uh, I still feel like it's a tie."

"This has to end somewhere, Hansen. What's the game plan?"

"Uh..." Evan trailed off. "Well, we could do a, like a 'final battle' or something on Friday?"

"You mean tomorrow?" Jared asked. "Just say tomorrow. We are gonna have our final battle tomorrow."

Evan blushed, nodding his head. "Yes. Tomorrow. Wear your, your 'hipest' outfit."

"Okay, if we were just going off of wording, I would win."

"Shut up."

Jared glanced through his closet. He had to win this. The prize was whatever the winner wanted (within reason), and Jared wanted a date.

"Okay, so, uh. What would Hansen do?" Jared mumbled to himself. "Okay, okay. Pastel sweater that you stole from your grandma. Perfect. Uh," he practically jumped into his baggy overalls, making sure to leave one strap off. "Perfect." He looked in his mirror, proud of himself for the killer outfit. He gave himself finger guns, already knowing he'd win this competition.

"Fuck." Jared said as he stared at Evans outfit.

Evan was wearing a windbreaker (clearly vintage), and a button up polo (light pink). To make matters worse, he was wearing red booty shorts and white thigh high socks with stripes on them. His shoes were some brand that no one knew, and they really put the outfit together.

Evan did a little spin, showing off his outfit.

"How did you get away with wearing those shorts?" Jared asked, his face flushing.

"The dress code is uh, basically for the girls only. No one, no one cares." Evan smiled evilly. "So? Who's, who's the winner?"

Jared sighed in defeat. "You win. What do you want, Hansen? Money? A new game? A new shirt?"

"A date." Jared jumped back slightly in surprise. "I mean, obviously you don't have to, but uh, that's, that's what I want, so uh. Yeah. But a new shirt works too. Let's do that. That's fine."

"You want to go on a date? With me?"

"Well, I mean, if you don't want to, I'll just take the shirt."

Jared nodded his head, looking out the window as he thought. "Okay. Are you free tonight?"

"What?" Evan asked, surprised.

"Are you free tonight? Like, at 7?"

"Oh! Uh, actually, yeah. I am." Evan tried to hide his smile. "I uh, yeah."

"Alright. I'll pick you up at 7, Handsome." Jared winked as Evan walked to his seat; a blushing mess.
