Warning: Angst
Notes: Jeremy is Immortal. Michael is not.
Set mostly in the past, but some chunks are in the present.

"Are you sure?" Jeremy asked Michael, smiling wide. "Won't they find us? Capture us?" Jeremy asked, more for Michaels sake.

"Isn't that risk fun?" Michael smirked, grabbing Jeremy's hand and pulling him towards the roof of the tower. "Come on, Jere. The sky is dancing tonight."

Jeremy glanced at the stars in the sky. He gave a weak smile to the sky before looking back at the road.

If he thought too much about him, then he'd crash. He didn't want to go through the whole 'new life' thing again.

"Come on, Jere." Michael whispered, pulling on Jeremy's sleeve. "There's something I want to show you."

"What?" Jeremy asked, curiously. "It's not that stupid field, is it?"

"No, better." Jeremy followed Michael until they reached a forrest of trees and shrubs.

"Woah."

Jeremy looked around, smiling as he studied the area. "It's so beautiful."

"I know." Michael now seemed embarrassed, but a smile was still on his face. "I thought of you."

He pulled Jeremy down to the ground, holding him tightly. The two were silent for a while, just embracing each other.

"One day," Michael started. "One day, I'm going to run away with you. We'll be together, without worrying about what others think. It'll be a good life. I promise." Michael looked deep into Jeremy's eyes. "I love you, and I want to spend my whole life with you."

Jeremy kissed Michael so he wouldn't see the weak smile on his face. Pulling back slightly, Jeremy mumbled. "Me too. I love you so much."

Jeremy pulled up to the familiar area, smiling to himself as the castle still stood. It was rotting and breaking down, but it still brought back beautiful memories of the servant boy.

Perking up, Jeremy glanced to where the forrest should be.  In its place was a bare field, built for crops.

Jeremy shouldn't be too surprised, but tears pricked his eyes nonetheless. He quickly wiped them away, walking around the deserted castle.

As he walked around, he could practically see him and Michael running around, trying to fulfill the needs of the royal family.

"Okay, the queen wants her favorite drink. Can you get that to her?"

"What's her favorite drink?" Jeremy asked, worriedly.

"I don't fucking know. Just go to the kitchens." Michael took a deep breath. " I have to help dress the king."

"Do you want me to do that?" Jeremy asked, not wanting to help dress the king.

"No, I'll be fine." Michael quickly gave Jeremy a kiss, rushing off before Jeremy could react.

He smiled, cupping his cheek.

Jeremy cupped his cheek, smiling at the old memory.

He took a deep breath, trying to find what he'd really came for.

He searched every room, until he reluctantly opened the door he knew it would be.

Michael opened the box, smiling wide as he glanced at Jeremy. "Is it... it's for me? How did you pay for this?"

"Don't worry about it. And yes, it is for you. Only you." Jeremy played with the bed sheets, glancing around the room to make sure none of the other servants were coming.

Michael gave Jeremy a lovestruck look before going in for a small kiss.

The kiss quickly became heated at the passion between the two boys.

"Michael. We might, we're gonna get caught." Jeremy panted between kisses.

Michael didn't answer, as he nibbled down to Jeremy's neck, earning a moan from Jeremy.

The door swung open, and loud screams filled the room. The box was tossed under the bed by Jeremy, and he tried to keep Michael by his side. The other servants pulled the two away, forcing Jeremy to the ground.

Michael kicked at the guards, eventually escaping. He pulled the guards off of Jeremy.

"Go! I'm right behind you! Don't stop, Okay?"

Jeremy nodded, quickly fleeting the castle.

Michael never came after him.

Jeremy pushed back the memory, lifting the bed to find the decomposing box.

He opened it, taking out the beautifully crafted music box. He opened it, and soft music filled the room.

He watched the two figures dance around. They were made to look like they were dancing around a field, and the top looked like a starry night.

Jeremy glanced at the side, his breath hitching as he looked at the promise he'd engraved at the bottom.

I promise we will be together forever.

If only it was true.
