Connor walked awkwardly towards his new locker, trying to ignore the obvious whispers about him. He subconsciously covered his hair, knowing that nothing would change.

He'd always be an outcast.

He slammed his locker shut, smirking to himself when the normies winced. He staggered away, not noticing until it was too late that he'd collided with a normie. They both fell to the floor, the normies books falling.

"Oh, god, I'm so so sorry!" The normie said before glancing up at Connor. Connor waiting for a second, ready for the panic to set in.

"Are you okay?" Connors eyes widened as the normie held out a hand, smiling gently at Connor. Connor lost all words, nodding. He allowed the boy to pull him up, looking into his bright blue piercing eyes. "I'm so sorry. It's all my fault. I wasn't paying attention, I'm sorry, I just, I needed to run to the printer, and I'm late for cheer, and-"

The boy cut himself off, his eyes widening. "I'm late." Without another word, the boy ran off, his cheer uniform bright in the hallway of baby blue and baby pink.

"No, Zoe. Listen to me. He's... he's different!"

"Different?" Zoe asked, not looking up. "He's a cheerleader. No; he's not."

Connor rolled his eyes, reaching into his backpack for his lunch. His eyes widened as he felt a book cover in his hands. "Oh no."

"What?" Zoe asked, worried.

"I kept his book. Oh god I'm a fuck up. How am I gonna get it back?"

"Okay Connor, chill. It's okay. Just... uh, well, do you know his name?"

"No. But I do know that he's in cheer, so."

"Yeah, so is half of the fucking school, but go off." Zoe mumbled, looking around. "Huh. That's weird."

"What?" Connor asked, not caring.

"Alana and Evan aren't here."

"Who?"

"They're uh, cheer people. I met Alana earlier and Evan was with her."

"What does Evan look like?" Connor asked, studying Zoe closely.

"Uh, dirty blond, blue eyes, hella out of your league?" Zoe sassed. "Don't worry, you weren't talking to Evan."

"Are the cheerleaders here? Like, any of them?" Connor questioned, ignoring Zoe.

"Uh, actually no. That's weird."

"I'll be back." Connor said, standing up. "I have to... do something."

"If that 'something' has something to do with Evan, I would suggest not. We're Zombies, Connor. We already don't belong here."

"Zoe, for once in your life, let me live my undead life."
