Me, Rick, Hershel, and Daryl are all running out of the car. We are supposed to meet the governor and discuss a deal. We all know that's not going to work. But I trust Rick. Hershel stays in the car due to his leg.

Me, Daryl, and Rick run up to an abandoned building. Daryl and I stand guard while Rick goes inside.

Hershel pulls the car up by us. Then the Governor pulls up. But he is already inside.

Andrea and the Governor's crew get out of the car.

"What the hell? Why's your boy already in there?" Daryl asks Andrea

"He's here?" She asks

'Is she oblivious to everything!?'

"Yep." Daryl answers.

He keeps his crossbow aimed at the car while Andrea goes inside. I wait outside and pace by the car.

"Maybe I should go inside," Hershel suggests

"The governor thought it best if he and Rick go inside and speak privately." Some guy says

"Who the hell are you?" Daryl asks being sassy

"Milton Mamet."

"Great. He brought his butler." Daryl scoffs

I try to hold back a laugh but fail. Daryl looks over at me and smirks.

"I'm his advisor."

"What kind of advice?" I ask

"Planning. Biters. Uh, you know I'm sorry. I'm sorry I don't feel like I need to explain myself to the henchman. Sorry, henchwoman." He says to me

I growl lowly and start to glare.

"You better watch your mouth, sunshine," Daryl says defending me

"Look if you and I are gonna be out here pointing guns at each other all day, do me a favor. Shut your mouth." Another guy says

"Ya know. I think we all liked it better when you didn't talk." I say, leaning against the car

"We don't need this. If it all goes south in there, we'll be at each other's throats soon enough." Hershel says

I turn around and climb on top of the car.

"What are you, Rick's pet?" The other guy says

I'm about to say something back but Hershel gives me a warning look. I shut my mouth and sharpen my knife.

We all sit outside and wait. What's taking so long? I'm on the top of the car, on my back, looking at the sky.

"There's no reason not to use this time we have together to explore the issues ourselves," Milton says

"Boss said to sit tight and shut up."

"Don't you mean the governor." Daryl sasses

"It's a good thing they're sitting down, especially after what happened. They're gonna work it out nobody wants another battle." Milton says

"I wouldn't exactly call that a battle." Daryl

"I would call it a battle and I did. I recorded it." Milton says

"For what?" Daryl asks

"Somebody's gotta keep a record of what we've gone through. It will be a part of our history."

"That makes sense," Hershel says

"I've got dozens of interviews," Milton starts

I suddenly hear walkers. But it's faint. I growl, and Daryl gets the signal. I get up and walk towards the sound. They all look at Daryl.

"Walkers." He tells them, following me.

Daryl stays ahead of me, along with the other one of the governor's men

"After you," Daryl says bowing his head sarcastically

"No way, after you." He responds

I push them aside and shove a walker against a wall, stabbing it in the head.

"Pussy." The man says to Daryl

He goes up and smashes a walkers head with his bat. Daryl goes up and shoots a walker in the head.

I sigh and watch as the two boys compete.

The man smashes another walker in the head. Daryl shoots a walker, the arrow going through its head and into another's neck. Before the man can take down the walker, Daryl throws his knife at its head.

I scoff and turn on my heel, my back facing them as I walk away

"Come on ladies," I tell them.

-time skip-

It's been well over 2 hours since we got here. I'm sitting on the car, carving nothingness on a piece of wood I found.

"A word?" Milton asks curiously

"Sure," I say, not looking up.

"When I was talking about my journal, you growled because you could hear biters even when all of us couldn't and over everyone talking. How? If I may ask." He says curiously

"Why should I tell you?"

"It's just mere curiosity." He tells me

"Well. It took maybe 13 years but, I trained myself."

"How?"

"My father would quietly go to my room to beat me, for no apparent reason. Just to make sure I knew I was a failure. I trained myself to have keen reflexes and good hearing. Even when I'm not paying attention to my surroundings. I just listen closely, to the farthest thing possible, as often as I could."

"Fascinating." He says "and that growl?"

"My Dad made my act like a pet. Would make me growl, purr, pounce, all shit an animal would do. Even get on all fours."

"I'm sorry to hear that."

"No big deal. I killed him anyways."

"You k-"

"Stop. I've heard enough of that shit."

Soon Daryl and that guy, Martinez comes back. Soon after, the door slides open. Out walks Rick and the Governor.

I get on my motorcycle and ride up beside Daryl. I look over at the truck and glare at the Governor. Then Daryl and I lead the way back home. Rick following us behind.

-time skip-

"So I met this governor. Sat with him for quite a while." Rick says

"Just the two of ya?" Merle asks

Rick nods his head.

"Should have gone when we had the chance bro." He says to Glenn

"He wants the prison. He wants us gone. Dead.he wants us dead for what we did to Woodbury." He pauses and looks around the room

"We're going to war." He finishes.

We all part ways to think about this. Register what's happening. I lean over the rail from upstairs. I need to prepare. I can't let the people die.
