Katherine

I walked into Kaleb's house. He was drinking a glass of Bourbon and watching a baseball game.

"Whoa. Why do you look so fancy?" He asked.

"I'm wearing a black dress and heels. That's fancy?" I frowned.

"It's hugging your curves, your heels are making your legs pop, full face of makeup, Chanel purse, hair is blown out. You're dressed all the way up, love." Kaleb grinned.

"I'm dressed casually." I argued.

"You look as if you're going out to dinner with the president."

"If the President was Obama." I sat down in the chair next to him. I took his drink and sipped it slowly. I stared at him.

"What the fuck are you staring at?" Kaleb asked.

"You know you could talk to me about any and everything right?" I asked him.

"Duh. Stupid." Kaleb continued watching the game.

I didn't stop looking. He ignored me. I stood in front of him.

"What the fuck?" He groaned.

I poured the drink in his face. Pissed off. He's just going to sit here and not tell me?

Kaleb pushes me on the floor. "You just wasted booze!"

I got up and punched him in the mouth.

"Katherine, what the fuck?!" Kaleb shouted.

"What are you two fighting over now?" Mother came downstairs.

"Katherine spilled booze."

"Kaleb didn't tell me he was dating Alina."

"Katherine, you did what?" Mother looked incredulous.

"You need to get your priorities straight." I told her and looked back at Kaleb. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"We did tell you. In London."

I hit him in the shoulder. "Three months after its been made official."

"I wanted to keep us private."

"Oh bullshit." I growled. "You don't keep anything from me."

"Maybe I was afraid you would break her arm or something."

"Fuck you." I pushed him. "I would never hurt Alina. She's my best friend! She takes care of my girls, she's been there for me. I support your relationship but I don't support you hiding it from me."

"You're always throwing hissy fits. You have a husband, kids...let me be happy with her. I'm happy, Katherine. It shouldn't matter when you found out. You know now."

"Hissy fits? I'm a grown ass woman."

"So act like it."

I raised my hand to hit him again and he grabbed my arm and chucked me into the table that was holding the liquor. The table broke under me and glass got wedges into my skin. This bitch. He took off running. I bolted after him, through the kitchen, through the upstairs floors. He even climbed up in the attic and stayed there for over an hour. And I waited. Until I heard the front door open and close and voices fill the room. I walked downstairs.

"Why are you lot here?" I asked.

"Heard you were gonna kill Kaleb." Rome replied.

"Babe, what happened to your arm."

"Kaleb threw me into a table with glass on it." I ran back upstairs.

Kaleb was climbing down the latter. He saw me and immediately tried to climb back up. I grabbed his ankle and threw him to the floor. I then got on top of him and pinned his hands on his head.

"Apologize." I declared.

The team ran up.

"For what?"

"For not telling me...your sister."

"Fuck no."

I smiled slowly.

"Katherine! Don't you dare! MUM! MUM!" Kaleb began shouting.

I was about to do probably the most disgusting thing known to man (let saliva hang from my mouth until he caved) but Brian grabbed me. Kaleb got up.

"I'm sorry, okay?" Kaleb panted. "We just wanted to be happy in secret."

"I tell you what." I sighed. "You cheat, you lie, you ever make her tear...and I'll hit you so hard, you'll start seeing double."

"You're supposed to be on my side!"

"That's the thing. I can't have a side! Me best friend and my brother. How the fuck do I choose?!" I shouted.

Kaleb shook his head.

"You both wasted a full bottle of Bourbon!" Mother screeched from downstairs.

Kaleb and I both looked at each other.

"IM GONNA SKIN THE BOTH OF YOU!"

Kaleb and I ran upstairs in the attic and hid until we knew our mother was down for her evening nap.

I tried to make this chapter sort of funny but I feel like I failed because though this book has its humor moments, it's a book built on rage. Let me know what you think.
