Space academy
Corridor

As nandini walked down the corridor, the speakers went off and all the students stopped to pay attention

I liked for you, the first time you looked at me
I loved you, the first time you smiled at me
I adored you, the day you told me you had a crush on me
And I have been falling deeper ever since

Whispers flooded the hallway, everyone mumbling about who this person is and whom was he referring. Nandini although had a idea over the last part.

Nandini went down the stairs towards the auditorium stage and saw the decorations ,there were red hearts all over with her name written.
Her pictures was displayed on an led screen. A picture from her time in America.

She looked around and saw manik and adi on the other side of the hall flocked by Fab 5 . All of them also looked confused . It was quite dark and yet the hall was now getting filled with many other people.

Preeti came by her side when she turned.

P : what's going on

N : I don't know

The lights on the stage went on as nandini climbed it and then she saw madhyam on one knee .

Md : nandini, I have loved you for a long while. And maybe you weren't ready to accept me back then, but after all we've been through

Nandini was bewildered, Maddy was proposing to her, in front of the whole college. The shock on her face was unmistakable

Everyone was talking and nandini felt
embarrassed.

N : we've been through, what are you talking about

Soha spoke in the background, but her voice was heard by everyone

So : great he is back at his misconception of nandini loving him. When is he going to learn

Harshad took the hand of an agitated soha, and the rest of there friends stood by.

Md : I know Manik is just a ploy to make me jealous. So that I take a step in our relationship . You knew I like you, afterall I came you following to another country.

N : which relationship . I have been pretty clear about my feelings for you. And I told you I was just enduring you for the sake of so called friendship

Nanidni threw the card with the envelope on his face, but before she could say anything more, madhyam was caught by his collar

Manik was angry, he was seething. Madhyam had been a trouble since the day he arrived but Manik never did anything because he was too caught up in other problems. But asking his princess out, well Maddy had certainly crossed a line

Manik punched him on his jaw, and continued doing that until a crack was heard. Maddy tried fighting back but was no match to manik. His nose was broken and his lip busted.

Adi pulled Manik back, and he saw nandini looking at him horrified . She looked at Maddy laying on the ground and back at Manik and then turned to walk out. A midrad of emotions going on her heart.

Manik ran behind her, but she had already excited the college gates in her car.

When he came back to the auditorium he saw adi holding Maddy up, the latter wasn't even able to open his eyes clearly, that although didn't stop adi from kicking him in the gut.

Ad : stay away from my sister. If I see you even I'm hundred meters of her, let's just say you won't be able to walk again

He left him to fall on the ground and came running to manik

Ad : where is she

M : she left

Adi held his head while manik tried calling her phone, their friends were all around them looking worried . This was certainly none of them expected to happen so suddenly.

Tree house

Nandini enterd the tree house and fell on the sofa. She had a few tears in her eyes and looked at her phone with twenty missed calls from manik. She messaged him where she was and then threw her phone away to a corner.

She was angry at madhyam and at what he had done. She was angry at herself because she had given Maddy a way into her life and in the lives of her friends . She knew he loved her, but what she wasn't aware of was that he would act on it

The door of the tree house turned and manik came in. They looked into each other's eyes, and he took a seat beside her on the sofa.

N : I'm sorry

M : I should be the one saying that

N : you didn't do anything. I let him do this. I mean how stupid am I, to let him think that we had a chance , anyone but him was worth being a friend

M : princess

Nandini got up and walked circles and manik let her vent

N : he is an idiot, I hate him . I was clear that he means nothing to me. Where can someone get an idea I love him from that

M : nandini

N : no, you know what I am glad u punched him, I should do that too

Manik got up and took her in his arms, and spoke lightly

M : well considering the way he looked before I left, I think he is going to stay a few days at the hospital. But you can totally send him back after that

Nanidni snorted and manik smiled too

M : I should have guessed he would fall down to this level. I gave him an opportunity afterall . I left you and well I guess I have to deal with that.

Manik knew this was all on Maddy but that didn't change the fact that his absence had paved way to nandini's life. Manik knew nandini was free to date anyone or befriended him.

N : Manik, there was nothing between me and him. I only went close to him to show you. And that too happened once. So its all on him. And anyways I love you

Nandini stopped to realize what she had said in flow of words , since that night this was the first time she had said those words out loud

Manik looked surprised and before he could react Nanidni kissed him, hoping he would forget that or atleast not speak

Manik broke the kiss and she looked down ,he kept a finger on her chin and made him look up

M : you don't want to say it or you didn't mean it

Manik looks afraid, one word from nandini could break his heart. He was someone who was afraid that the girl he loves might say no to him.

N : last time I said those words, you left me. I don't want to live that again

Manik sighed, like he said he had brought this upon himself. What he had done had left an impact on their lives, and one day or one talk couldn't just remove it all

M : go out with me tonight

N : you are asking me on a date

M : yes, please

Nanidni smiles and nods.
They spend a few more hours in the tree house before Manik's drops her at her home to get dressed for the date.
