"Oh alright."

Oh, and crazy thing just happened! As I was looking for facts on this movie, I stumbled upon my Shake It Up Themed Page on Google! How weird is that?

Director Pete Docter named Disney storyman and writer Joe Grant in the film's dedication to the "real life Carl and Ellie Fredricksens who inspired us to create our own Adventure Books." Grant was part of the 1937 team that created Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and wrote Dumbo and Fantasia. The mentor, friend and source of inspiration to Docter and countless others continued to work at the Walt Disney Animation Studios up until his death in 2005, one week shy of his 97th birthday.

In the Simpsons, the Itchy and Scratchy short “P.U.” is a parody of Up.

Fact #1734

Charles Muntz was named after an actual enemy of Walt Disney. Up’s villain Charles Muntz was named after Walt Disney’s real-life archenemy, Universal Pictures executive Charles Mintz. Mintz stole Disney’s production rights to “Oswald the Lucky Rabbit” in 1928. This lead Disney to create Mickey Mouse and quickly surpass Universal in animation popularity.
