"I'll send the documents to your email immediately. Thank you so much!" then I hung up my phone and focused myself on my laptop.

I was so focused on it when I heard a knock on my door.

"Come in" sabi ko habang nakatuon pa rin ang atensyon sa laptop ko.

"Busy?" napalingon naman ako sa nagsasalita in front of me.

She was smiling at me kaya hindi ko na rin naiwasang mapangiti.

"Oh sorry. Yeah. I just have to finish some things" sagot ko naman while looking at her.

"Kumain ka na?" tanong niya at umiling naman ako. I watched her as she look at her watch.

"Tsk tsk. Nagpalipas ka na naman" sabi niya habang umiiling.

"I just had my brunch. Di pa naman ako ganun kagutom" sagot ko naman while smiling.

She sat down on the chair in front of me and said,

"Huhulaan ko, you just had a coffee as your bruch, right?" tanong niya while giving me a 'don't deny look'.

Hindi ko na nagawang makapagsinungaling coz she knew me well kaya tumango na lang ako.

"Lis, past 1pm na, hindi ka dapat nagpapalipas ng gutom. Tara kain tayo"

"How about you? kumain ka na ba?" tanong ko naman sa kanya at umiling siya.

"See? we're just the same!" sabi ko nang patawa tawa pa.

"No we're not. I just finished an operation. Hindi ko pwedeng iwan ang pasyente ko, unlike you, anytime you can leave those papers and have your lunch. You're just too stubborn to do so" sabi mo while smirking at me.

"So, don't be such a kid and samahan mo na ko kumain, I'm starving!" dagdag niya pa sabay tayo.

Sinundan ko siya ng tingin and she just give me a 'what' look. I deeply sighed bago ko tumayo.

"Fine. Let's go" sabi ko and she smiled at me.

"Where do you want to eat?"

"I think I'm craving for a steak" sagot niya naman.

"Okay then" sabi ko naman and I drove off to the nearest steak house na alam ko.

While we were eating,

"So how's the operation?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"It went well. It's just that, I have to be extra careful kasi medyo may edad na yung pasyente ko" sabi niya habang hinihiwa yung steak sa plato niya.

"I see. That patient is so lucky to have the best surgeon" papuri ko naman sa kanya.

"Hmf! bolera!"

"Hindi pambobola yun! Totoo yun!" pagtatanggol ko naman sa sarili ko.

"Kumain ka na nga lang dyan!" sabi niya naman habang nakangiti.

I couldn't imagine that I will be this close to her again. No more tension, no more awkwardness. Without realizing, I stared at her and remember what happened a year ago.

Flashback

I was driving my car when someone caught my attention. A girl without her slippers on is running on the sidewalk while crying. This girl looks familiar. I wasn't so sure if I'm right because the girl's back is facing me. I slow down my car and I followed where the girl is going then suddenly she stops and she sat down on the street sobbing on her hands. I stopped my car and I step down at nilapitan siya. My heart got broken when I confirmed that it's her.
