Light filtering in through the curtains and the dull headache of oversleeping roused Hyun-Ji from her sleep. The sun was so high in the sky that Hyori must have been tired if she was still sleeping at this hour. Alone as expected, Hyun-Ji rolled over to face the alarm clock, and a sea of white caught her hazy eyes.

She sat up and blinked several times, her vision clearing. At least a dozen bouquets of white hyacinths filled their bedroom, covering the dresser, the desk, one even sat on their nightstand with a card propped against it with his angular handwriting on it.

He remembered.

She told him the little detail about herself months ago and he cared enough to remember something so insignificant. The fact made her fall in love with him a little bit more and the brightest smile graced her features.

Excited, she picked up the card and read his inscribed message:

Good morning, Princess!

I hope you slept well. Don't worry about Hyori, I'm taking her to your mother's house. She's staying overnight.

Get ready. I'll be back to pick you up by 9.

I love you.

Her smile widened and she leaned over to take in the sweet fragrance of the star-shaped blossoms. She threw the covers from her body and like magic her headache was gone.

She showered and dressed, and straightened her hair while looking through the heart of sticky notes that was still on the bathroom mirror. He didn't want to take it down, even after she assured him she wouldn't be offended. He said he felt loved every time he saw his face in the middle of the heart.

Thirty minutes later, the doorbell rang. She bounded down the stairs and opened the door to find her fiancé just beyond the threshold.

She giggled at his cute bunny smile. "Why do you do this when you have a key?"

"What kind of person just walks into their date's house?"

"The kind that..." She paused as the meaning of his words sunk in. "This is a date?"

He looked down and a shy smile lifted the corner of his mouth. From behind his back, he produced yet another bouquet of flowers. Jewel-red long stem roses were presented to her for the first time in her life.

He made sure not to forget them this time around.

"Happy birthday, Hyun-Ji. Will you go out on a date with me?"

She covered her face with both hands and let out the tiniest squeal before accepting the roses. "Yes. I would love to go out with you."

He let out a breath and his smile widened. "Good. I would have had to cancel everything I have planned if you would have said no."

"How much do you have planned?"

"Only the whole day," he smiled. "Hungry?"
