[Chapter 18: Deceive]

Hindi ko naman napigilan na mapailing nang makita yung tinginan nina Zace at Hue pagkatapos ng pinag-usapan namin. Maski sa pagdating namin sa classroom ay hindi maalis-alis yung ngisi ni Zace na naging dahilan para mapaismid ako.

He's enjoying this. I quickly lowered down my head on the desk, and was about to take some good nap, but looks like someone doesn't want me to as we heard the door opened.

"Good morning, everyone."

Despite that I'm still lowering down my head, a grin suddenly plastered on my face as we all heard that voice. Nakaramdam naman agad ako ng batok na naging dahilan para mapaangat na ako ng tingin. I immediately glared at Hue who's usually at fault for this kind of things.

Tinaasan lang naman niya ako ng kilay nang tignan ko siya ng masama na ikinaismid ko nalang at tignan yung taong nasa harapan.

"Well, look who's back."

Nagkatinginan naman kaming apat nang marinig ang sinabi ni Mrs. Laurent nang dumako ang tingin niya sa amin dito sa may bandang likod na naging dahilan para magtama ang mga mata namin.

Zace can't help but to show her his smirk that made the latter to look at him in confuse.

"Look who's back, either."I immediately couldn't helped but to placed my arm under my chin as I watch Zace play with Mrs. Laurent.

"Oh, he is so on."Rye suddenly approached me and watch him as well.

Napansin naman namin na mas lalong kumunot ang noo ni Mrs. Laurent sa huling sinabi sa kaniya ni Zace. She was about to talk regarding about it, but someone interrupted the conversation.

"How's the flight, Mrs. Laurent?"Zace suddenly turned back from being obnoxious as he heard one of our classmate asked that.

Halos hindi ko naman napigilan na mapailing at sabay na napangiwi nang makitang biglang ngumiti si Mrs. Laurent sa kaklase namin nang marinig niya yung tanong. Ew.

I unknowingly gaze towards Hue who's still reading a book, despite of what's happening.

"Too bad, she can't buy us with her smile."Hue seemed to noticed me looking at him, so he diverted his attention towards me and told me what he thinks. Nagkatinginan naman kaming dalawa ni Rye nang mangyari 'yon at sabay na nagkibit-balikat.

Sandali naman naming napansin na napasilay ng konti sa amin si Mrs. Laurent nang balak niya sigurong sumagot, na naging dahilan para patago kaming napangiti ng nakakaloko.

"The flight's wonderful, I guess."Hue was about to talk with Zace, but we suddenly heard what Mrs. Laurent said that made us gaze back towards her.

"We thought you were going back tomorrow?"Mrs. Laurent was about to start talking, but someone asked her once again.

"Well, something came up."I suddenly raised an eyebrow at her the moment we heard her answer. Something came up, huh?

Nakita naman namin siyang patagong napangisi bago tuluyang magsimulang dumaldal sa harapan. Zace suddenly smirk once again and just shook his head in disbelief.

"Should we tell her to practice how to control her eyes?"I jokingly asked which made Zace get back from being intimidating and intently look at me with his cold eyes.

"Let the tiger lady have her moment."Zace blunted and just close his eyes.

Napadako naman ulit ang tingin ko kay Mrs. Laurent at sabay na nagkibit-balikat. Oh well.

Agad naman akong nag-inat nang makahilata ako sa ilalim ng puno dito sa field matapos ng ilang schedule namin. I close my eyes as I felt the gust wind hit my face.

"I wonder how she made the faculty believed her."Papunta na sana ako ng dreamland nang bigla kong marinig ang sinabi ni Rye na naging dahilan para mapamulat ang isa kong mata.

Hue close his book and diverted his attention towards us.

"Luxe University is being handled by Tita Avani by herself. Don't you think she has something to do with this?"Tuluyan naman na akong napamulat nang marinig ang sinabi ni Hue sa amin at saka bumangon.

"If so, then why Auntie let her?"I completely butted into the conversation and said that to them. Nagkatinginan naman kaming tatlo at sabay na nilihis ang atensyon namin patungo kay Zace na nakapikit at nakahilata sa sanga ng punong tinatambayan namin.

I frankly frowned.

"Zace, get down."Hue commanded him. But the latter just simply opened his eyes and look down on us.

"How come you still couldn't get what Tita's trying to say?"He suddenly smirk the moment he said that and eventually landed in front of us at the same time.

Dahil sa sinabi niya ay halos mapakunot ang noo ko at sabay kaming nagkatinginan ulit ni Rye.

I shrugged as I tried reminiscing what Auntie told us about them.

Halos manlaki naman agad ang mga mga mata ko nang makuha ko na ang gusto niyang ipahiwatig sa amin. I suddenly stood up from lying down and quickly faced Zace who gradually gaze towards me.

"Deceive the deceiver."There, I just saw him smirk the moment he heard what I just said.

"Bingo."Napaharap naman ako sa kanila Hue at Rye na parehas kaming tinitignan na may pagtataka sa mga pagmumukha nila.

I snapped my fingers as I speak.

"Margauxe wants to play with us, so we'll give her the fun that she wants. Meanwhile, tiger lady on the other hand wants to deceive us."

"So, why not deceive her as well?"I stared out of nowhere while a grin is starting to form within my lips. Napansin naman 'yon ni Zace at mas lalong napangisi.

"That was Tita Avani meant about acting like we don't know anything. She wants us to let them believe that we're taking the baits."

Eventually, both Hue and Rye already had smirks on their faces.

"But without them knowing that they're the ones who's really taking the bait of their own show."

Nagkatinginan naman kaming dalawa ni Zace nang marinig ang sinabi ni Hue.

"I told you, let the tiger lady have her moment."Kibit-balikat naman ni Zace at muling umakyat doon sa sanga na pinaghigaan niya kanina.

"Let them both enjoy while it lasts."

That was the last thing he ever said before returning back to his position and close his eyes right after the moment he said that.
