[Chapter 22: Treasure Box]

Walang pasintabi akong pumasok sa kwarto ni Kuya dito sa Alum, dahil mukhang dito na naman siya matutulog. It's actually the third night that he's going to stay, not that it's already bad to stay here, but just because for doing something he can't let go about.

I almost furrowed my forehead the moment I saw how busy he is uptil now, despite it's already late at night. It's midnight.

Sinundan ko naman agad siya kung paano siya maglakad pabalik-balik sa harapan ng balcony habang tinutuunan niya ng pansin yung folders na alam kong binigay sa kaniya ni Tita Avani.

I somehow leaned on the wall, and raised an eyebrow at him.

"Vi, what are you doing?"I eventually giggle a bit when he immediately noticed me staring back at him, as he continues pacing back and forth with his attention still on the folders.

Napailing nalang ako dahil sa mga kinikilos niya kasabay nang pagtungo ko papunta sa kama niya at umupo doon.

"Aren't you getting tired?"I eventually almost laugh upon hearing my own question. He stopped for a moment to take a quick glance at me and immediately raised an eyebrow as he heard me asked that.

"You're my sister, Vi. You already know the answer to that."He said in a tone where I could't helped but to agree.

Napabuntong-hininga naman ako at tumayo para lumapit sa kaniya.

"And as your sister, I know what you're up to."

"I know, Vi. I know."He bluntly said and look at me in the eye.

Halos hindi ko naman napigilan na mapaiwas ng tingin nang tignan niya ako ng ganon, dahil alam ko kung ano na naman ang gusto niyang ipahiwatig.

"You already know about her, don't you?"

Hearing his question made me to eventually look away more.

For the past few months, Kuya has been way more different. Alam niya na lahat ng bawat kilos ko.

"Kuya, seriously you really need to take a break."I suddenly blunted out, changing the topic, and somehow get the folders within his hands for me to take a look.

"Why can't you just tell me, already?"He ignored what I said. Napantig naman agad ang tenga ko dahil sa tinanong niya. I gradually close the folder for a while, and take a glance back at him.

"Not everything is a treasure box, Kuya."His forehead creases the moment he heard what I just said.

Napansin ko naman agad na biglang siyang napasuklay sa buhok niya matapos niyang marinig ang sinabi ko. Sumandal naman din siya study table niyang katabi ng pinto papunta ng balcony at sandaling nanahimik.

I just awkwardly clenched my fist after seeing how he reacted.

Yes, the Alum knows everything. But there are some other things inside and outside of this place that needs to be unraveled by going through certain circumstances, despite already knowing everything.

Just like what happened to them when they were being chased.

Besides, that's what she wants him to do. That is exactly what she really expects him to do.

Wala na akong ibang nagawa pa kundi mapabuntong-hininga bago ibalik sa tabi niya yung mga folders. He gradually stared at me and I just gave him back a half-smile.

"I'll be going now, Kuya. There's school tomorrow."I kissed his cheek as I eventually bid good bye.

Kumuha muna ako ng huling pagsilay sa kaniya at kitang-kita ko mula dito yung pagod sa mga mata niya. I can't help but to shake my head in an unbelievably manner. I also saw how he messed up with his hair again and throw himself to his bed, leaving the folders on the table.

Tuluyan ko nang sinarado yung pinto ng kwarto niya at umalis. Sorry, Kuya.

Hindi ko naman napigilan na mapaiwas ng tingin ng magtama ang mga mata namin ni Kuya, bago ako sumakay sa kotse nila.

What I said to him last night suddenly roamed through my mind. Agad naman akong napahawak sa ulo ko at mabilisang umiling.

"Woah there, Vi! You okay?"

Halos mapatalon naman ako ng biglang sumulpot sa tabi ko si Kuya Axe at tanungin ako. Kuya Axe look at me with a furrowed forehead and just shook his head as he eventually chuckled for how I acted.

I just awkwardly smiled back at him which eventually, Kuya Zace saw.

Walang pasintabing tuluyan na akong sumakay sa kotse at sabay na nanahimik hanggang sa umandar na ito at makarating sa university.

I almost can't help but to changed my expression and suddenly raised an eyebrow when I saw Mrs. Kan staring at us right from the second floor.

Huh, look who it is.

"Kuya, remember what I said about the treasure box?"I called out my brother and asked him.

Agad naman siyang tumango na ikinalingon ko sa kaniya at ngumisi.

"You cannot simply just want to know everything like how you expected it to be."Kuya seemed to noticed where I was looking, so he immediately followed my gaze and it lead him to where Mrs. Kan is.

Mas lalo naman akong napangisi nang bigla niyang kinuyom ang kamao niya. Precisely.

"Not everything is a treasure box, because some treasures aren't worth treasuring for."

"Treasure box? Vi, what are you saying?"

Kuya Hue suddenly butted in and held me by the shoulder. I just eventually smile brightly at him and shook my head as a sign that it's nothing more to talk about.

And besides, looks like Kuya already know what I just meant last night. Phew.

"Treasure box? May treasure hunting pala, hindi niyo naman sinabi sa akin."Kuya Axe frankly pouted that made me chuckled.

"Nice joke, Axe. Pakamatay ka na."Kuya Rye on the other hand hit him that made him to pout even more.

"Haha, funny."Kuya Axe sarcastically blunted out that made Kuya Rye rolled his eyes, eventually.

Napailing nalang ako

"You really are my sister."Kuya Zace suddenly patted me on the head and show me his infamous smirk. I just shrugged.

If that bitch is a treasure you want to find, trust me Kuya, you're just eventually return her back inside the treasure box.

Or in reality, might as well kill her?
