[Chapter 19: The Encounter]

*Ryderick's Point of View

"So, what now?"

I unconsciously removed the hood of my hoodie upon hearing Axe's voice in a very dull and bored tone. Napatingin naman ako sa relo ko at halos hindi na napigilan na tumawa ng mahina bago muling ibalik ang atensyon ko kay Axe.

Huh, will you look at that. The day is over and it's almost quarter to 7:00.

Halata naman na sa ganitong oras ay pinaghihigpit ni Tita Avani na wala na dapat estudyanteng nakatambay pa sa loob ng university. Well, except for us.

But nonetheless, I don't know what just gotten into Zace and clearly that he's still enjoying napping on that branch above us. Hindi ko rin talaga gets kung anong trip nito sa buhay. I just shook my head mentally in an unbelievably manner.

"Zace, sabihin mo lang kung gusto mo mag-camping. Sasamahan ka naman namin."I quickly raised my hand and immediately look away the moment Zace suddenly glared at me.

On the second thought. He's really good at making others believe what he's doing.

"We'll be off, later."I almost couldn't helped but to groaned in irritation after hearing what he just said. Wala na tuloy akong magawa kundi sayangin ang oras ko at magpagulong-gulong sa damo.

"Why are we still here, anyway? The others are probably waiting for us."Hue suddenly spoke up and diverted his attention towards Zace who's now looking towards where the backgate is.

Wait, don't tell me?

I immediately get rid of myself from the grass as I saw Zace stood up and immediately jumped right from it. Tumingin naman siya sa akin at ngumisi na parang alam niyang alam ko na kung bakit hanggang ngayon ay nandito parin kami.

"Zace, don't tell me we stayed so we could get a perfect timing to encounter them?"The latter quickly snapped his fingers after hearing Hue told him.

"Seryoso ka Zace?"Axe unbelievably approached him that made Zace pushed him through the forehead.

Napasimangot naman si Axe nang dahil doon at bumalik nalang sa pagkakatabi sa akin.

"Tita Avani wanted us to play along with them, so why not? I'm pretty sure they're behind that gate, waiting for us to move."Kibit-balikat naman ni Zace at nanguna na sa paglalakad pabalik sa loob.

I just rolled my eyes as we followed him, afterwards.

"Is it just me, o parang sinapian siya ni Aphrodite?"Napatingin naman sa akin si Axe at sabay na inakbayan ako pagkatapos niyang marinig 'yon.

"Maybe yes, or maybe no. Ewan ko ba diyan sa lalaking 'yan."Axe grunted and just continue walking. Hindi ko naman maiwasan na mapailing.

"We will never understand love."

Sabay naman kaming tumango ni Axe nang sabihin din namin 'yon ng sabay, habang napansin naman namin na napailing si Hue nang marinig niya 'yon.

"Wait, Zace. Does Auntie knows about this?"Axe's forehead suddenly creased the moment he asked Zace about what we're doing.

Zace stopped for a moment and faced us wearing his infamous grin.

"Axe, she's the one who wanted us to do this."Zace corrected him and didn't say anything else before getting back from walking. Nagkatinginan nalang ulit kaming tatlo nina Hue at Axe nang marinig ang naging sagot niya at bumalik na rin sa paglalakad para sundan siya hanggang sa labas.

When we immediately found ourselves outside the premises, our pace quickly changed and directly went to where the backgate is being located.

There, the ones whom we expected to be there are both exactly in front of the backgate and seems to be talking about something, again.

But, too bad.

My forehead unknowingly creased the moment Zace suddenly stopped from walking once more, and blocked our ways to prevent us from walking continuously. Sinilip ko naman siya at nakitang nakangisi siyang nakatingin sa kanila. I was about to called out his name and ask what the hell is he doing, but then he cut me off.

"Time's up. They had enough moment."I can't help but to immediately raise an eyebrow at him after hearing what he just said, before unblocking our ways.

"This guy sure knows how to feel like he's in an action movie or something."Axe silently joked around and shook his head in disbelief.

Hue on the other hand beside me, closed the book he's been reading and diverted his attention in front. I coolly wear my hood as I couldn't helped but to smirk when I just realized that we're getting closer and closer towards them.

I cleared my throat and ready myself the moment I saw Zace looked at me.

Huminga muna ako ng malalim bago tuluyang magsimula.

"Margauxe?"

Kitang-kita kaagad namin kung paano siya natuod at nanigas sa kinatatayuan niya nang marinig niyang tinawag ko siya.

I tilted my head in confusion as a part of my act when I saw how she smirked at me.

Huh, better luck next time.

"What are you doing here?"She eventually pretented as if she's not somehow confused when she saw us right in front of her eyes, and asked us that.

Sandali naman kaming nagkatinginan nila Zace bago patagong ngumisi.

"Same thing goes with the both of you."I bluntly said that made her diverted her attention towards me.

"Mrs. Laurent!"

Axe suddenly and quickly butted in and waved a hand towards the tiger lady who already seems to look at us with suspicious eyes the moment she saw us came over.

Been there, done that. I mentally rolled my eyes as I watched how she gave us the looks.

Maya-maya ay bigla niya kaming binigyan ng ngisi at tumingin kay Margauxe na nakatingin na rin sa kaniya, pero bakas sa pagmumukha niya yung taka.

"Well, well, what a surprise."

Nagkangisian naman kaming lahat, maliban nalang kay Zace na diretso at blangkong nakatingin kay Mrs. Laurent. But eventually, as soon as we felt some presencesurrounding us, he immediately plastered a smirk on his face and walked towards them.

"Sorry to disappoint you, but—"

Then out of nowhere, tons of men surrounded us.
