Ryker's car was silver, with plush leather seats that looked more expensive than comfortable.

There was also the smell of some expensive aroma in the car.

Despite all my protests, he managed to put me in the passenger seat in one piece.

Shutting my door with a final slam, he sauntered to the driver's seat and locked the doors.

I felt utterly at his mercy. I had no idea how I talked myself into this.

Finally, Vince turned to face me. Now that he had, my breath was caught in my throat upon noticing him fully.

He was dressed in a simple black button down shirt which was unbuttoned slightly at the top.

As much as I hated to admit it, he looked every much handsome as how I had imagined him to be.

He paired that with a pair of snug jeans. His eyes were on me as I scrutinized his appearance.

"I can tell that you like what you see." Vince said, smirking at me.

"And I can tell that you're a jerk." I retorted automatically.

"Anyways, buckle up." Vince ordered, putting the car into reverse.

I crossed my arms. No way am I going to be bossed around by some weirdo.

You already have, my mind reminded me sardonically.

Vince sighed and ran his hand through his hair before reaching over to me.

For an instant, all my consciousness was tossed outside the window.

As he leaned in, I could smell his familiar scent mixed with his cologne and his warm breath on my skin.

Before I could help myself, I moved closer. As if encouraged by my response, he bent down and ever so gently, ran his lips across my collarbone.

I inhaled sharply when the lip piercing brushed my skin, setting it on fire.

Vince looked up and our gazes met. He searched my face and put his lips closer to mine.

In that moment, we were breathing in the same space, our breathing ragged.

A few long moments passed as he continued to look into my eyes.

As if thinking better of it, Vince pulled away, leaving me breathless.

He winked then buckled my seat belt firmly.

I couldn't help but feel a tiny bit disappointed.

"That's for later." Vince smirked at me.

The car had started and we were cruising out of the driveway.

Without that much as a bump, we were on the road.

"Can't you tell me where we are going?" I asked Vince.

He shook his head slowly, suppressing a smile.

Vince must have registered the panicked expression on my face because he continued.

"You'll like it." Vince said impassively, keeping a blank face as he maneuvered in and out of traffic.

We were driving a little quicker than usual, avoiding the cars and ignoring the loud beeps of the other cars on the road.

At the speed Vince was going, I was glad I had my seat belt on.

The sky was slowly turning to dusk, the street lamps flickering on, illuminating the roads.

When we settled into silence, I was starting to realize that it was a bad idea.

For starters, I had no idea where we were going. What if he's bringing me to a dangerous place? What a smart move, Amanda, getting into a vehicle with a stranger. To make matters worse, I almost let him kiss me.

Well, come to think of it, I could use my ultimate secret weapon. I could unleash my ball-kicking skills on him, and he'll regret it. The vital point was that if I'd want to. Most probably not, my mind responded.

As I was feeling doubtful, at the same time I was a little intrigued. Where was he taking me?

As I was pondering on those thoughts, I felt something on my knee.

Looking down, I noticed Vince had conveniently rested his hand there.

I tried to brush it away, but he gave me a crooked grin and placed it back where it was.

I was glad I'd decided to wear jeans that day. Scowling at him, I attempted to remove his hand from my knee again.

"Don't blame me if we get into a car accident." Vince piped in casually, with one hand on the steering wheel and the other hand firmly put on my thigh.

Gritting my teeth, I tried to ignore the feeling of his hand against my jeans but it was impossible.

I brushed it off again and we nearly bumped into an incoming truck.

"Sit still, kitten." Vince said.

I sighed. Deep breaths, Amanda.

"We're approaching soon." Vince told me, keeping his eyes on the road.

I looked around, surveying my surroundings. In the distance, there was an array of lights and a crowd of people at what I could assume was the entrance.

Decorations lined up beautifully above our heads as we drove through.

It was nothing like I expected.

From the atmosphere and the surroundings, it looked like some kind of carnival. I couldn't help myself asking, "Why are we here?"

"All in good time, kitten." Vince replied, glancing at me at the corner of his eye.

Finally, I pried his hand away from my leg and he smirked when I struggled.

"So eager to get rid of me, kitten?" Vince said, sounding hurt in some way and suggestive in another. I couldn't decide which.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes. "You have no idea, weirdo."

"Is that what you're calling me now?" Vince asked, giving me a crooked grin.

"It may appear so." His grin was infectious and I could feel my smile.

"No fair, your name is better." Vince pouted playfully, biting his upper lip.

I adverted my eyes. His lips were too distracting and I needed to focus.

We were now parked at a parking lot.

The place seemed awfully familiar, like I've been here before.

Vince looked like he knew the place at the back of his hand.

Once he was out of the car, I was expecting him to open the door for me but he didn't.

When Vince noticed me still sitting in the car, he raised his eyebrows.

"Who are you waiting for? Santa? I'm sorry to burst your bubble but he does not exist."

I scowled in response and got out of the car, slamming the door.

Walking briskly, I caught up with him. We were standing in an open area, and there was many people queuing up in the distance.

Vince suddenly brightened up and we made a beeline for the queues.

"Can't you tell me where we are?" I asked Vince.

"You'll find out very soon." Vince promised.
