More info: Shamir X Male! Reader

I hope Shamir isn't really OOC in this. I don't know her very well, so hum yeah.
Anyways, this was requested by @logicneverworks!
Enjoy!

After a good meal at the dining hall, (Y/N) decided it could do him some good to get some training done. And so, off he went at the training grounds.

With his sword in hand, he went to the training grounds, only to fall face to face with the one and only Shamir.

Just at the mere sight of her, (Y/N) couldn't help but feel his heart beating a bit faster then usual. This sort of thing always happened to him, ever since he first met the knight, but even now, when he was at the service of his highness, after five damn years, he still had this happen to him.

Hoping not be seen, (Y/N) tried to back away towards the exit, but alas, he had been noticed.

Shamir turned around, "Oh. It's you."

(Y/N) chuckled awkwardly, "Yeah, it's me. Hi."

"Hi."

An awkward silence stood between them. Neither of them were good at having interactions like this.

"...Here to train?"

(Y/N) quickly snapped out of it. He had stared at her for far too long.

"Hum... yeah."

"Come on then. I won't stop you."

The man gave a quick nod, then quickly joined her at her side. But as much as he tried, it was quite hard for him to train like this, when his crush since his academy days was so close to him.

Shamir noticed his odd behavior, and got quite tired of it, finally speaking out about it.

"Why are you like this?"

"L-Like what?..."

"You're acting very odd. It's distracting."

"Oh... I'm sorry," turning towards the exit, he sighed, "I... think I'll just go. I'll come back later. So I don't disturb you."

(Y/N) was about to head out, until Shamir stopping in from stepping any further.

"Wait."

He turned his head around, "Hm?"

"Stay. Let's just... train together."

"Oh," he couldn't help but display a little smile, "Okay."

And so, Shamir grabbed a sword, and the two fought each other relentlessly for about two hours.

At some point, (Y/N) had to finally quit. He couldn't take it anymore.

Sweating like crazy, he sat down, against the stone wall, soon joined by Shamir.

Although she was just as exhausted, she was better at hiding it.

The two remained silent again, just enjoying the peaceful break, until Shamir finally spoke first, which surprised the young man.

"You've improved since the last time I saw you fight."

(Y/N) looked back at her, eyes wide.

"Really? You think so?"

"Yeah. But don't let it get to you, you've still got a long way to go."

He sighed, wiping of the sweat of his forehead, "I know... But I'm doing my best. And just you wait," he looked back at her with stars in his eyes, "I'll become the best knight in Faerghus- Heck, in all of Fodlan!"

Shamir let out a low chuckle at his childish response, "Sure you will."

"I'm serious. I'll become such a great knight that some day, I'll be able to conquer your-"
(Y/N) quickly stopped, realizing what he was about to say. His cheeks quickly turned a reddish color.

"Conquer my...?"

"-Never mind. Don't worry about it," he only muttered.

Another short silence occurred, until (Y/N) finally mustered to ask a question he always wished to ask.

"About being a knight... Do you think I'd make a good one?"

Shamir raises a brow, "Why do you ask?"

"I don't know. I just- I'd like to have your opinion. I'd really like to know what you think? Am I on the wrong career path, or-"

"You talk way too much. You won't even let me answer."

(Y/N) looked down at his feet, "Sorry."

"I think you'd make a good knight, sure. You've got a long way to go until I could call you one worthy of the highest of praise, but... Don't give up. You'll get there. You've got all the good qualities a knight should possess, you just need more training."

"Thanks. It's nice to know you think I'd make a good knight. It matters a lot to me, you know."

"Why so?"

(Y/N) felt his cheeks heat up, "Hum... Well, I always saw you as this mentor type figure. You always trained with me when I was younger, and taught me a lot of stuff. So, it was only natural for me to want to make you proud of me. You... are proud of me, right?"

Shamir smiled, a smile (Y/N) didn't often see, "Yeah. I'm proud of you."

The man couldn't help but display a goofy grin at her words, like a small child who had earned the highest praise a person could get, "Thanks, Shamir, for being proud of me. It means a lot to me."

She smiled again, a smile he was sure not to forget for a long time to come, "Your welcome."
