(Third Person P.O.V.)
~~~Meanwhile, at a secret hideout~~~
"Great...just great..."
After countless hours of attempting to create a perfect concoction in his lab, Cameron lied down on a black leather couch, tired and stressed out. Despite the fact that he had a degree in chemistry, he failed to develop something that would lead (Y/N) to her doom. For now, Cameron decided to take a break while his hooded assistant prepared some snacks and drinks at their kitchen.
"Look, Boss..." The mysterious individual carried a food tray to the living room, placing it on the coffee table. "If we asked our henchmen for some assistance beforehand, our lab work would've been easier and less time-consuming."
"But if we did, we would still be unsuccessful..." Cameron sat up to pop a cap from his beer bottle. "Those men are nothing but a bunch of weak idiots. Surprisingly, they are even no match for those lucky bastards who have (Y/N). I feel like we need extra help."
"Extra help?" His sidekick tilted his hooded head. "What do you mean by that?"
"We're going to hire another person." The boss explained. "One who is more powerful than all of our henchmen combined...Even stronger than (Y/N)'s."
"Huh...and who would that be?"
"Well, allow me to call one of our assistants first."
Cameron pulled out his cellphone and texted the following message:"Please report to the living room. This is urgent."
A few knocks were heard from the opposite side of the door. That was when Cameron recognized it coming from one of his henchmen.
"Come in!"
As ordered, the blue-clothed Texan entered the living room, taking a few steps forward until he was a few feet away from his boss. Curious on what was going on, he decided to speak first.
"Y-Yes, Sir?" The southern-accented man was a little nervous. "Do ya need help with somethin'?"
"Why yes." Cameron nodded. "I just have an important question for you, if you don't mind."
"Not a problem, Sir." He gulped a bit, trying his best to remain calm in front of his strict leader. "So what is it?"
"How did you and your friends exactly get here? In our world, I mean..."
"Well, we got here by some sort of machine."
"Machine? Of what kind?"
"It was some device that my rival built in his workshop." The Texan explained his story. "One day, my team noticed that he and the others were missin', so we went to investigate their base. After a while, Vincent discovered that unusual machinery in which we decided to examine it. However, our youngest member, Jace, made a biggest mistake when he pressed a certain button on the side, activating a portal which sucked us all in. And before we knew, we ended up here..."
"A portal, you say?"
Cameron rubbed his chin and turned his head to the hooded sidekick who had a similar reaction. Then he looked back at his henchman before him.
"Well then," the leader continued, "is it possible for you to open that portal from here?"
"I can open it." The blue-cladded man replied. "My rival actually left an extra remote behind. Why?"
"The reason why I asked you to come here," Cameron reminded, "is because I was thinking of hiring someone from your world to make our team stronger. That way, we'll easily get (Y/N) and give hell to all of those bastards. Understood?"
After some thought, the Texan nodded and agreed with the boss's plan.
"Yes, Sir."
"Good. Now hand over that remote."
~~~Back at (Y/N)'s place~~~
(Your P.O.V.)
"AHH! AIDEN!"
"(Y/N)!"
Back to reality...
"Huh?"
I immediately woke and sat up from bed in the middle of the night. Those certain images of Pyro in my mind. They were nothing but just a dream? I looked around to check the surroundings. Indeed, I was in my own bedroom. Not the guest room. I even checked my sleepwear. Just a usual tank top and shorts. When I looked down, I realized that Pyro and Spy were cuddling next to me. What exactly happened? While in deep thought, I didn't realize that the fire mercenary opened one eye, seeing me still up.
"Firefly, you're awake?..." He carefully got up and pulled me in a warm hug. "What's wrong?..."
"Aiden..." I looked at his olive eyes that shined under the moonlight. "Did we do anything last night?"
"Other than having a bubble bath together? No." His facial expression showed concern. "Why?"
"I think I had this dream...an unusual one that looked so real." I paused, not knowing how to describe it. "It also had something to do with you."
"Oh?" The pyromaniac's eyes widened. "What was it about?"
"Promise me you won't tell your friends about this..."
"Promise, my love."
Taking a deep breath, I discussed it in detail to the fire mercenary. Everything from that adorable moment in the bathroom to an unexpected alone time in a guest room. As a result, Pyro developed a deep shade of pink that dusted his cheeks and was hardly visible to see in the dark.
"Really?" He was surprised when I nodded in response. "I see. And to confirm for you, my firefly, it wasn't real. That was just a dream. A special one, I have to say."
"Oh?" I stared at him as he lovingly stroked my hair. "So we actually didn't do it?"
"We didn't. In fact, you actually fell asleep when we were cuddling together in that bathtub. So I had to dress and carry you to your bedroom by myself." He let out a soft giggle.
"Oh really?" I laughed softly so as not to disturb the other mercenaries. "Silly me. Didn't know I slept during the bubble bath."
Smiling, Pyro took the time to caress my soft cheek, while snaking his arm around my waist at the same time. Within a few seconds, he leaned in, inching his lips closer until they were pressed onto mine. Blushing pink like cotton candy, I gently returned the kiss, wrapping my arms around his neck. After what seemed like forever, we finally broke the kiss for air, staring into each other's eyes.
"You should go back to sleep, firefly." He nuzzled my cheek. "It's like half past midnight."
"I will." I did the same in return. "Good night, Aiden."
"Sweet dreams, (Y/N)."
I slowly lied down, cuddling next to the fire mercenary and falling asleep once again. Before anything, Pyro wrapped his arms around my form, providing me warmth before whispering in my ear.
"I love you, my beautiful..."
After saying that, he planted a kiss on my forehead and closed his deep green eyes to rest for the night.
