It is the middle of the night. As you lay in bed, you hear the sounds of sirens and car alarms from outside of your apartment building. You turn on your back and stretch out on your bed. Before opening your eyes, you reach to feel for Kurapika. His side of the bed is cold. He is not there. You slowly open your eyes to check the time. It is three a.m.

He can't sleep. Again.

Kurapika has been obsessing over his next hunting assignment and it has you worried. You love everything about Kurapika, except for his career. He is the strongest Hunter out there, however, you still can't help but worry about him everytime he goes out on a job. It is something you considered before accepting his marriage proposal.

You always get a nervous feeling in your stomach right before Kurapika begins a new hunting assignment. This particular assignment is different though. There is an ache in your heart and you can't help but think something terrible is going to happen to Kurapika.

You sit up in bed and throw the fluffy comforter off of you. You get up to check on Kurapika. He is in the kitchen already dressed in his suit. He is writing a letter. He looks up at you as soon as he hears you walking his way.

"Oh, (Y/N)...did I wake you? I'm so sorry. I was actually just about to leave you a letter." says Kurapika.
"A letter? Where are you going?" you ask.
"I'm off to start my new mission. I didn't want to wake you." answers Kurapika.

You start to feel angry.

"Kurapika! How can you just leave like this? You know I didn't want you to accept this mission!" you yell.
"(Y/N), you do understand it is my job, right?" asks Kurapika while walking closer to you.

Kurapika is facing you, but you refuse to make eye contact with him. You can never stay mad at him when he looks at you with his entrancing eyes. He cups your face with his hands and you have no choice but to look at him. He stares at you with his beautiful dark grey eyes.

"I will be fine. I promise." he says to you.
"Please...Kurapika. Not this mission." you beg Kurapika.
"You do this every time. Look...we have discussed this. I am a Hunter. If you are to be my wife, then I need for you to understand." explains Kurapika.
"I do understand. It's just...it's just that I have a terrible feeling about this one." you say.
"I simply cannot decline a mission just because you have a bad feeling." says Kurapika as he wraps his arms around you.

You rest your head on Kurapika's chest. Tears start to fill in your eyes as you imagine him leaving and never coming back.

"Please. Please...Kurapika...don't leave me." you continue to beg as you start to cry.
"(Y/N), don't do this. It's not a good way for me to start a new assignment. I will return to you as soon as I successfully complete my mission. Then...we shall be married." says Kurapika.

You look back up to Kurapika. He reaches down and presses his lips against yours. You part your lips to accept his kiss. You can taste the herbaceous flavor of the green tea he was drinking. You let out a soft moan as he deepens the kiss and holds you close. He breaks away and you are disappointed.

"I must go now. I love you dearly." says Kurapika.
"Kurapika, please be careful. I love you." you say back to him.

As soon as Kurapika closes the door, you run back to bed. Tears stream down your face as you grab Kurapika's pillow and cry into it. You eventually fall asleep.

The sound of your cell phone ringing wakes you up. You rub your eyes while slowly sitting up to look for it. It is sitting on your nightstand. You notice it is Kurapika.

"Kurapika?" you answer.
"(Y/N)...My Heaven." says Kurapika.

His voice is hoarse.

"What's the matter?" you anxiously ask.
"I...I ran into some trouble." answers Kurapika.
"Trouble? What kind of trouble?" you ask. Tears are already filling your eyes.
