I love when my readers enjoy my stories so much, they request I continue them. I went ahead and worked on this one first since it was still fresh in my mind. Look out for the second part of K-Dream: A K-Pop Idol Story and You're Enough For Me. They are coming in the near future.

The Solemn Vow* Part Two

The Solemn Vow* Part Two

I jolt up in bed at around two. I check on the baby. She's sound asleep. I check on Kurapika. He's also sound asleep. His breaths are slow and even. The moonlight shines through the window, providing me with enough light to see his face. His lips are slightly parted. I wonder what he's dreaming about. And what woke me up so suddenly? Could it be that now, since we've settled back into married life, I can't help but wonder if I'm still sleeping with the enemy?

No...we've moved past that. Kurapika learned from his mistake. A tiny smile forms on his face. What is he dreaming about? I'll never know. I'll never know what really goes on in his mind. Am I going crazy? Why do I feel the sudden urge to strangle him? He's already paid for his sin.

Or...has he?

Six months pass by and I wake up at two every night with the same feeling. I ask myself the question Leorio onced asked me. Would you still have forgiven Kurapika if he never got into that accident?"

Now that Kurapika has fully recovered, I don't know. Maybe I only felt sorry for him. Or maybe I felt guilty for saying those terrible words to him. The reality is, he had an affair. The wounds he left in my heart didn't get the chance to heal.

What's that saying? Once a cheater, always a cheater? I wonder if that's true. I know my heart can't go through that again. He has obviously resigned from his job with the Nostrade organization. However, that doesn't mean my mind is at ease.

Kurapika and I have gone to marriage counseling, but after three sessions, he said it was a waste of time.

One thing is certain: he's a great father. That little girl is his world, and I'd hate to take her away from him.

Don't get me wrong, I do love him. I guess I'm just...scared. Scared he'll hurt me again.

"(Y/N)? What are you doing all alone in the dark?" Kurapika rests his hand on my shoulder.

I spin around in the armchair that sits in the corner of our bedroom. "Oh...hey, darling. I'm just a little tired. Nothing to worry about."

He reaches down and gives me a kiss. "Dinner is ready. Will you join us?"

"Of course. Just give me a second."

I watch as Kurapika leaves the room. I sit back and sigh. I decide it's best to just love him.

I walk to the dining room table. Kurapika already has Mirai in her highchair. He's feeding her pureed vegetables, and it's obvious she disapproves.

"You're trying to feed her peas again?" I sit down across from them. "You know she hates them."

Kurapika lets out a laugh. "I know, but they're good for her."

I smile as I grab my bowl of rice. I pick up a piece of katsu with my chopsticks and dip it in sauce before putting it in my mouth. "Mmm...this is good. Thank you, Kurapika."

"Of course. You shouldn't have to cook every night. I want to help you as much as I can."

Mirai picks up her spoon and throws it at Kurapika.

I laugh as peas splatter all over his face. "She has good aim."
He grabs a napkin to clean his face. "She sure does." He laughs. "I guess she's feeling better."
I furrow my brow. "Feeling better? What do you mean?"
Kurapika takes Mirai out of her highchair and sits her on his lap. "She sounded like she was coming down with a cold. I hope you don't mind, but I asked Leorio to stop by after work to assess her."
I bury my face into my hands. "Of course not. I just feel bad for not noticing she was sick."
He bounces her on his knee. "Don't be so hard on yourself. You've done a lot for this family."
