~Chapter 5: I Think He Likes You
I stared at Niall in shock. “You wanna say that to me again?” Niall repeated.
I pushed him away. “Get off of me, Niall.”
Niall’s eyes softened. “I was just fooling with you.” He smiled. “Loosen up.” He laughed nervously.
I didn’t smile back. I was half annoyed and half pissed. “I don’t even know you. Why are you treating me like this?” I asked.
Niall blinked, looking a bit stunned. “I-I’m sorry. I was just joking around. I didn’t mean it like that.”
I didn’t respond for about a minute. He looked at me with a childish expression that said ‘I’m sorry.’ He’s just like a little boy, I thought. Immature. “What’s your full name, Niall?”
His eyes met my gaze. “Niall James Horan.”
“I’m Cordelia Delphina Sanders.”
“You have a lovely name.”
I blinked. That’s the first compliment I’ve ever received from a guy. “Th-thank you…?” Niall stared at me for a second. “What is it?” I asked, backing away. I felt awkward.
“Oh, nothing.” Niall put his hand to his head. “I just keep dozing out.” He turned around. “See you in a bit.”
I watched as he walked back into Adriana’s room. I took a deep breath and walked back into mine. I looked at my door, half expecting Niall to knock. He’s one weird guy, I thought, shaking my head. I looked at the time. It was 4:30 in the afternoon.

I summoned enough courage to go back to Adriana’s room to ask for more clothes. I buried my face in my hands. “Okay, Cordelia. Do it,” I said to myself. I got up from my bed and walked out into the hall. I dragged myself in front of her door, knocking. “Hey, it’s Cordelia.”
The door opened up and I was face-to-face with Niall. Again. “Hey,” he said slowly. Awkwardly.
I nodded and pushed past him, into the room. I didn’t want to face him at the moment. “Adriana, I need clothes again…,” I called awkwardly. “Maybe I should just go home and get them.”
Adriana sprinted to her closet. “Oh, no! No, it’s fine! I’ve got plenty of clothes.” I raised my eyebrows. “Pick ANYTHING you want.” I slowly walked into her closet. “Just come out when you’re done changing!” Adriana went outside, closing the closet door behind her.
I looked around. Clothes, shoes, dresses, pants, and accessories were everywhere. The closet was as big as my living room at home. I picked out a blue undershirt and a white tanktop with a heart that was half the Irish flag and half the British flag on it. I felt like it had something to do with One Direction, but I didn’t care. Next, I put on a pair of ultra-skinny jeans with jewels decorating the side of the leg. The necklace my mother gave me matched the tanktop. I tied my hair up in a ponytail and walked out. I waved to everyone. “Hi.”
“Wow, Cordelia! It’s like you just went through a whole make over. You look so cute,” Adriana complimented.
I looked at her funny. My arch enemy was suddenly my best friend? I wasn’t ready for a best friend yet. I wasn’t even ready for a friend. “Thanks,” I replied anyway.
The boy I believed was Louis replied, “You look nice, Cordelia. That’s a nice shirt.”
“Oh,” I said. “Thanks. It’s… hers.” I pointed to Adriana.
He nodded. “I know.” Louis smiled. I smiled back a half-smile, one only my mouth participated in.
My eyes traveled to Niall involuntarily. He was watching me, but when he noticed me watching him, he looked away.
Adriana walked over next to me and whispered something to me that sent chills down my back. “I think he likes you.”
