Chapter 32

Jason

Today we were all going to the beach and staying at Raven and Erik's family holiday house. Max said we could drop the puppies at his parent's place since it was closer and I agreed. Both of us had gotten ready early so we loaded our bags into the car along with the puppies. All of us were going to stop for a brunch on the way, so we just had some coffee and fruit for some energy. After that, we hit the road and we took Max's car since it was much bigger than mine.

When we reached Max's parent's place we got out and I grabbed the puppies from the back seat. Max went to the trunk to grab all the necessities for the puppies, while I went to ring the doorbell. Max's dad Nicolas opened the door and seemed surprised to see carrying puppies. I smiled at him and said," good morning Nicolas, sorry we came here so early in the morning. Please can both of us come inside we have a surprise to show you all". Nicolas let Max and me through and shut the door behind him.

All of us went to the living room together and I put the puppies down on the ground. Max set their things besides the puppy carriers. Max looked at his dad and said," Dad we adopted two puppies yesterday. The Doberman is called " Dash" and the German Shepperd is called "Lucky". Please can you look after them while we are away for the trip this week?". While Max spoke to his dad I took the puppies out from their carriers. The two of them ran out and jumped into my arms.

Nicolas looked at both of us and then the puppies in my arms before replying," Ok we will take care of the two of puppies since they are so adorable. Give the little cuties to me now and off you two go. See you after the trip and have fun". Nicolas put the puppies down and Max and I pet them before leaving through the front after bidding Nicolas goodbye. We got into the car when I received a call from Oliver. So I answered the phone and Oliver said," Jason where are you and Max? I just wanted to let you know that we would be meeting at the pancake house for brunch". I replied by saying, " We were dropping off the puppies at Max's parent's place. We will meet you at the pancake house, see you". Oliver said, "bye" and kept the phone.

This time I got into the driver's seat while Max sat in the passenger seat. We thought that we should take turns driving since it is a long drive. Once we reached the pancake house the two of us went inside together. Our friends were already there at the table waiting for us, I guess we were the last to arrive. We took our seats and all of us ordered our food, while we waited for our food to arrive we chatted about what we were going to do today. First, we were going to go to the holiday house to rest for a bit before going to the beach.

After that, we were going to have a bonfire at the holiday house along with some barbeque. Raven said that her parents made sure that the holiday house was cleaned and stocked before we got there. So we did not have to do any grocery shopping, but we decided to still stop at a supermarket on the way to pick up the things for the barbecue in the evening. Once our food arrived everyone dived right in since we were all starving. We took our time to finish our meal since we were not in a rush to reach the holiday house.

Sometime later we all finished our brunch and decided it was time to get on the road. We split the bill amongst ourselves and paid our share, before heading out together. Raven and Roxy were riding together in Raven's car. Erik and Oliver were also going together to Erik's car, I guess it was easier to take three cars. Once Max and I got into our car he turned on the GPS and punched in the address of the holiday house before heading out. Raven had given us the address and it would take two hours to get to the destination.

We got comfortable in the car and Max switched on the stereo so that the ride won't be so boring. I fell asleep while listening to music while Max took the turn to drive. When I woke up next there was a blanket on me and Max had parked the car in front of a supermarket. But he was not there however, there was a sticky note stuck on the steering wheel. It read," you looked too cute while sleeping, did not want to wake you up. Be back soon xoxo". I took the blanket off and set it aside.

I heard the driver's seat door open and Max got in but before he could put on the seat belt I told him that I would drive so that he could rest for a bit. He agreed and we switched seats so that I could drive. Max told me that he was going to rest for a bit and to wake him up when it was his turn to drive. When Max closed his eyes I leaned over and kissed his forehead and said," sweet dreams babe". I don't think he heard me because he was already fast asleep.

I started driving and watched the scenery while listening to music. Before you know it I had reached the holiday house. I did not even realize that two hours had gone by and Max was still asleep. I guess he was extremely tired because he did not wake up even once throughout the car ride. So once I parked the car I got out and went to the passenger's seat to wake him up. I carefully took off the seat belt and carried him inside the house, none of the others had arrived yet so it was just the two of us.

I carried Max upstairs into one of the rooms which was right at the end of the hallway. After that took off his shoes and tucked him in before heading downstairs. The others had arrived after 10 minutes or so because they had to make a stop for a bathroom break. They asked me where Max was but I told them that he was fast asleep since he was tired. Everyone decided to go to their rooms and rest for a bit before going to the beach. So I went to Max's car and got our bags and went upstairs to join Max for a nap.
