Chapter 48

Jason

It had already been a week since we had been kidnapped and each day the three of us tried to search for a way to escape. We were no longer staying in the cells and had been moved to separate rooms in the house. Staying in a room was much better than living in the cells, however, the whole place was heavily guarded. Rouge wolves roamed around, and I even saw a few men and women casting spells. Oh god, it is going to be challenging to get out of this place.

Luckily the room had a window so I could see the view outside but it was sealed so that none of us could get out. Roxy, Ollie and I only saw each other at mealtimes and we were monitored during that time, so chances of us discussing our great escape were impossible. Misaki, Tammy and Jessica were also present and watched our every move which was suffocating. At least they still treated us like human beings and provided us with basic needs for which I was grateful.

It was getting harder to deal with Jessica as she is trying to get closer to me. She casually brushed her arm with mine or kept staring at me with those googly eyes. I was still being polite to her and treated her well because that is the only way she would open up to me. I kept thinking about how Max, Erik and Raven were doing as I was missing them a lot. I was laying down on the bed thinking about various things. When I heard a knock on my door and it was one of the guards.

He told me that it was time for lunch and escorted me to the dining room downstairs. Ollie and Roxy had already taken their seats and as I was about to sit down there was an explosion. The three of us looked at each other as all the guards ran to find out what had caused the explosion. The three girls were nowhere in sight so we took this chance to run out of the front door.

However, the two guards at the front door stopped us and told us to go inside. I asked one of the guards if their bosses were around. The guard did not bother replying to me and pushed me inside the house and shut the door. Hm...how rude! anyway, the three of us took this opportunity to explore the house. We went in different directions and I kept an eye out for an escape route. I went upstairs and into one of the rooms that happened to be unlocked.

When I stepped inside the room I saw a lot of pictures of me, ah so this must be Jessica's room. I felt kind of guilty being in her room and seeing her things, but I was here to find some clues to get out of this goddamn place. I walked over to her bedside table and noticed a picture frame with Jessica and my photo. It was a picture we had taken at the amusement park. No, I can't be distracted there must be something in here that can help us in escaping.

I opened the drawer of Jessica's bedside table and there I found a bottle of sleeping pills. Perfect I know exactly what to do now, I quickly grabbed the bottle and slipped it into my pocket. Then I rushed downstairs to discuss my plan with Ollie and Roxy, the two of them were already back in the dining room. I looked at them and said," Guys I figured out how to get out of this place". Roxy's head snapped up and she replied," Well don't keep the plan all to yourself, tell us about the plan Jace".

Ollie also nodded his head in response and I took a deep breath before saying," Ok so listen first I am going to offer to make dinner tonight for everyone. I found a bottle of sleeping pills in Jessica's room, so I am going to mix it with the food. The two of you will help me in the kitchen with the food. Once everyone's asleep we are going to make our escape, but we need another thing too. We need a spell to get out of the barrier which has been cast around this place".

Ollie smiled at me and said," I have got that covered Jace there was a study with some books in it. I found a book on spells and memorized some spells there were also some magic stones. I stole some magic stones who knows it might help us in our escape and even break the barrier". Roxy and I looked at Ollie in surprise well that makes our escape much easier, now all we need to do is wait for dinner time.

The three of us heard the front door so we stopped discussing our plans and focused on eating our lunch. The girls walked into the dining room with bags in their hands and looked at us suspiciously. When we showed no emotion and made no movement they settled down at the table. Two servants brought them their meals and these two seemed to be new to the place as we had not seen them before. Once the servants were gone I took the opportunity to put my plan into action.

I glanced at Jessica and said," Jess I wondering if I make the dinner for tonight and invite everyone". Jessica looked at me in shock and the two others had the same expression as her. I cleared my throat and continued," Well all of you are doing so much for us and it is the least I can do to show you guys our gratitude. Plus you never had the chance to taste my cooking when we were dating right? I also want to make it up to you for all the times you cooked for me. What do you say, Jess?".

The three girls looked at each other and Tammy said," Can you guys give us a few minutes to discuss this matter." I replied," Yeah sure, let me know once you decide ok I will be waiting." Once Ollie, Roxy and I finished our lunch one of the guards escorted us back to our rooms. After some time there was a knock on my door, when I opened the door Jessica stood there. I told her to come inside and closed the door behind her, when I turned to look at Jessica I could see the doubt in her eyes. She walked close to me and said," Jace why are you being so nice? Why do you suddenly want to cook a meal for all of us?".

I need to reassure her before she becomes suspicious about our plan. I grabbed her hands and said," I just want to cook a meal and feed everyone there is no other motive behind it Jess. I told you before right that I never got a chance to cook for you, so I am taking this opportunity to do just that Jess". She finally seemed convinced and replied," ok you can cook for everyone Jace, I look forward to eating your food". I smiled at her and kissed her forehead gently and said," Thank you, Jess, I can't wait to hear your thoughts about my cooking. Also, I would need Ollie and Roxy's help in the kitchen while I am cooking ok".

Jess nodded her headed with a flushed face and rushed out of the door. I closed the door and locked it before breathing a sigh of relief. Now all I had to do was start preparing for the big dinner tonight.
