S. 1 EP. 17 Hide... Just For A While

(Because I can't sleep and need to bridge one chapter across a big jump so Fuck It I say! Here you go lovelies! Have some all nighter 4AM brain vomit.)

The next day, Julie was driving Jamie's car following Arcee out to the Autobot base. As the massive wall of stone split open for them, June and Jamie gawked in awe and their eyes grew wider and wider as they took in what they were seeing. Team Prime. All bigger than they had even imagined and coming into the room last. Was Optimus Prime, the biggest robot Jamie had ever seen, he was practically hanging out of his window to get a better view. But even though this was all new for him... he felt as if he were finally home with faces he knew very well. Jamie shook the feeling off.

After all the introductions were over and Jamie and June were shown around the base, Agent Fowler came to collect the twin terrors for a meeting with Prime over what had occurred the night before.

"Listen I know this is far from what you want but I have to take you into protective custody. With Silas after you-"

"No." Julie said firmly.

"Julie, he knew your father! He knows an unsettling amount of information about you!" Agent Fowler pressed

"What's GI Joe?"

"That is classified!"

"And this isn't?! I'm a major YouTube personality but this is still a secret! I can keep shit to myself!" Julie waved her hands around the base "It seems everyone knows more about dad than we do!"

"What's goin' on kid? Why won't you listen to me?"

"It's classified, Agent Fowler. I'm handling it." Julie replied

"For the love of!" The man threw his hands up into the air, "Fine! if it gets you to listen to reason. GI Joe is an anti-terrorist group within the US military. Your father Thomas was one of the highest ranking Joes there was. They were formed to fight a group called Cobra. And as far as we know, they've been inactive since he left to raise you."

"Then start there. If Silas knew about the Joes then he probably worked with dad. But I'm not leaving Jasper until I find my father's ashes." Julie said firmly

"Find- did your mother do something to you?" Fowler asked

"I'm handling it." Julie repeated stubbornly.

"Teenagers!" Agent Fowler cried

"Julianna, we only wish to keep you safe." Optimus told her

"I know Optimus."

"Is there any compromise that can be made?" Optimus was growing somewhat frustrated with the situation. Neither side was listening or willing to budge on the issue.

"Julie could start sleeping here. As long as the hag gets the child support for Julie she doesn't care where Julie goes as long as she can see that she's around occasionally." Jamie replied.

"I gotta record my videos somewhere." Julie agreed.

"This is a start I suppose." Agent Fowler rubbed his face. "Where are we gonna get everything you need here without me racking up some serious dept huh kid?"

"We just redid my hidey hole at dad's old dojo." Julie stated. "Everything is pretty much there. Bed, dresser, important sentimental items, kitchen junk." She shrugged

"I see." Agent Fowler shook his head "that still doesn't help the current MECH situation."

"I could take her up to New York with me. Grandma and Grandpa have some crazy security and usually send me out with a bodyguard and chauffeur. Ex military and stuff. She'd be safe with me until you could figure stuff out here on this end." Jamie suggested

"That I can get behind." Fowler said. "Maybe get Jasper secured a bit better. We need to get Julie a bot or something to protect her. Sharing a guardian with the other kids won't cut it prime."

Optimus sighed quietly but could see there was no budging Julie from her decision. "Ratchet will keep an eye on her from now on."

"Awww how come I get stuck with grumpy gills?" Julie whined quietly.

"This is the only solution we have available considering your stance on this issue. Ratchet will be your guardian from now on unless a suitable replacement joins us." Optimus looked at her sternly

Julie shrunk in her seat. "Yes, Optimus." She whispered like a child in trouble.

"For the moment you will go with your brother to New York until proper accommodations can be made for you here. When they are completed we will send for you"

"Yes, Optimus." Julie looked at her feet.

"I do not wish to send you away, Julianna, but this is for your best interest. Now. Go get prepared for your journey.

"Yes, sir. I know." Julie replied getting up with her brother.

"Come on, Jewels. Everything will be okay, you'll come back here." Jamie led Julie away.

Agent Fowler was flabbergasted "Now why didn't you do that from the beginning of the conversation?"

He was ignored.

Julie and Jamie left for New York that night.
