S. 1 Ep. 21 Devil's Awakening Pt.4

As events unfolded and Unicron woke up more and more, Julie became more and more unhinged. Fear edging into lunacy territory. Optimus was attacked by Unicron, the other Autobots left to help him and then Megatron saved the Prime's hide.

And now Megatron was coming here.

The mech that started Julie's descent into madness was going to be in the same room as her. And like hell was she going to miss the chance to fuck with his head. Her boredom in the past had allowed her to find the perfect acoustic corner in the main room of the base. Anything she said would bounce around and amplify into the most eerie sounding thing ever conceived. She read enough youngling stories to know just how freaky certain things could be for Cybertronians. And she knew just the youngling rhyme.

Ratchet was livid as he paced in front of the console. "I know that desperate times call for desperate measures, but bringing Megatron here?"

"How can you even think about letting that monster near these children after what he did to Raf?" June snapped.

"He will be closely monitored and only allowed to linger long enough to send us on our journey. Not one moment more." Optimus assured her, trying to calm her fury.

"What's gonna stop the 'Con from calling in an air strike if he knows where you live?" Agent Fowler asked.

"By ground-bridging Megatron here, he will be unable to get a fix on our coordinates." The prime explained.

"Optimus, what's gonna happen to you when all your Matrix energy is released?" Jack looked concerned.

Optimus turned away from the humans. "The power within the Matrix has not previously been utilized in this particular manner."

"But you have an idea, don't you?" Jack pressed.

"Autobots, if humankind is to be saved I have no choice but to proceed." Optimus looked at his team solemnly. "But you do."

"Well, I don't know about humankind, but I'm willing to do it. for Miko." Bulkhead looked over at his human.

"For Jack." Arcee stated.

Bumblebee whirred in agreement that he would go to protect Raf.

Julie sat high up on the catwalk, looking down at them all. She felt so lonely. The others had guardians who would declare that they would die to protect them. What did she have? Truth be told she wasn't very close to Ratchet. She felt like more of a nuisance to him than anything else.

Optimus walked over to the main console and pressed a button. "Megatron, we are sending transport."

::You can always be relied upon to listen to reason, Optimus.:: Megatron replied

Julie had disappeared to hide on her own while June and Agent Fowler ushered the other teens off to hide deeper in the base with Spitfire and Echo.

"No fair! I've never seen him! Why do we have to hide?" Miko said, outraged.

"Because I said so!" Ratchet responded firmly, shoving Miko along with them.

The Autobots assumed a combat formation as Megatron entered the base through the ground bridge. The warlord walked inside calmly, unphased by the guns pointed at him.

"So, this is where the magic happens." Megatron looked around. "Quaint."

Raf clenched his hands and glared at the warlord before sprinting out of hiding.

"Raf!" Jack tried to stop him.

"Rafael, no!" June reached for the boy.

"You!" Raf growled.
