In the beginning of second year Harry had snuck up to Dumbledore's office during dinner with the help of his map and rummaged around a bit before he found the cloak.
Harry researches Horcruxes and with a bit of thought decides to destroy all of Voldemort's. This worked out well for him seeing as the youngest Weasley girl had brought it to school unknowingly. All he had to do was swoop in and snatch it. He asked Acacia to bite it and then tossed it into the forbidden forest.
He also manages to find the diadem after convincing the Grey Lady to help him. He sends a letter to Bellatrix who sends him Hufflepuffs cup, unaware it was a Horcrux.
three down three to go, or excluding himself, two.
He does the exams and gets top marks, and picks out his electives for third year,
- ancient runes
- arithmancy
- care of magical creatures
He decided against Divination listening to Sirius warnings about it.
