Buried in the snow

The questions kept piling up,
And I looked for the answers,
Hoping I would get them someday,
What a fool I was back then!
I shouldn't have even tried,
For what's kept secret is not mine,
What's pretending cannot be denied,
And could never shake off the denial.
The story was over long ago,
The sky was giving hints all along,
The papers told everything except the news,
For the breath was cold, buried long ago.
The snow showed mercy after then,
It was the cruelest reminder,
But I remember the blood splatter there,
As it tainted the white snow that day.
I was just a passerby on that road,
I should just walked away on my own,
But something told me to pick up the girl,
And take her to get the warmth near.
She although needed more than warmth,
She needed her life back that time.
And I was the most hopeless stranger,
For I could never dare to dig the ice.
I knew she was looking for her soul,
Bit I couldn't hint her either,
Could never tell her that all her treasure,
Was merely buried under the snow.
