Y/N's POV:

As the morning sunlight begins to peek through the window, your eyes open slowly, feeling the weight of your lids fighting to stay closed. Groggily, you lift your upper body from the mattress, looking around to get your bearings. Your eyes snap open as you look at the gentle giant snoring next to you, remembering everything that happened yesterday.

You remain still as you watch him lying on his back, his chest slowly rising and falling as he sleeps. Your heart aches as you stare at him, noticing the swollen skin around his eyes from crying. Looking down you see his hand is still firmly grasping yours, because even in his sleep he's terrified of you letting go.

After a few minutes of finagling, you're finally able to slip out from his hand and tiptoe into the bathroom, splashing your face with cold water to really wake yourself up. You finish your skincare and brush your teeth, peeking out from the bathroom to see Namjoon still sound asleep.

You quietly head for the kitchen, closing the bedroom door as slowly and gently as possible. Knowing the mental state he's been in the last 48 hours, he probably needs all the sleep he can get. You turn on the coffee maker and lean back against the counter with your arms crossed, staring blankly out the window in the living room.

Your mind is reeling, still trying to process everything that has happened. Yesterday you had every intention of giving him the cold shoulder all night and leaving at 6am sharp the next morning. Looking at the clock you see it's already a quarter past nine; apparently you needed that sleep as well.

You pour some coffee into a mug and take a sip, staring at Namjoon's bedroom door wondering what exactly you should say. Running away isn't an option because last night you promised you would talk in the morning, but you really have no idea what you want or how to communicate it.

Shaking your head you decide to push your thoughts out. Overthinking clearly hasn't gotten you anywhere so far.

You grab the blanket on the couch and cocoon yourself into the warmth, turning the tv on to distract yourself until Namjoon decides to wake up. You then put one of your murder documentaries on, because there's nothing that'll distract you better than a good stabbing mystery.

Two hours later, you're heavily immersed in the show when you hear rumbling from the other room, the door swinging wide open as a panicked Namjoon bursts through the frame. His breath hitches as he sees you on the couch, half surprised and half relieved you're still here.

"I..." he clears his throat. "I thought you might've left."

"I didn't go anywhere," you shake your head. "I told you we'd talk. Go get freshened up and then come back and sit with me."

His panicked eyes gradually soften as he absorbs your words. He turns back to wash up and change, returning a few minutes later.

"Do you want coffee?" you ask, already in the kitchen.

He softly nods his head, moving closer to you but still remaining a few feet away. His hand instinctively reaches for yours but he stops himself, not wanting to make you uncomfortable.

You hand him his mug and walk towards the couch, Namjoon following closely behind. You sit with your legs crossed, covering yourself with the blanket as he takes a seat next to you.

The two of you are silent for a moment as you mess with the fringe on the blanket. Namjoon is staring at his coffee mug, eyes glazed over. He realizes he's zoned out and snaps his eyes towards you, sitting up straighter.

"Thank you for staying," he says shakily.

You bite your lip and look down at your lap, only mustering a simple nod. He turns his body more towards you, his left knee bent as it rests on the couch while his right remains loosely on the ground.
