Wriothesely's POV

"Please explain to me once more why I should teleport back to your office instead of walking for three minutes."

"Hah... Neuvillette..."

How do I subtly explain to this oblivious dragon that I don't want him to be seen walking around in my clothes?

"Please, Wriothesely. I would like to know why you are so against it so that I can avoid making such a mistake in the future." He continued.

How can I tell you the reason when you're being so prim and proper about it?

"I just- I don't-"

Oh, to hell with it!

"If the inmates see you waltzing around in my clothes they're gonna think we're dating!"

There you have it!

With 500 years of life behind you you can understand this much, right?

But it seems my expectations of Neuvillette's EQ and common sense were still high.

"We've indeed set dates for quite a few important discussions in the future, but I don't see how that is relevant or of any interest to the inmates."

...

"I'm starting to wonder how Lady Furina dares to let you outside."

"Pardon?"

"Never mind."

Still, how is he so damn capable as Iudex, but so oblivious when it comes to everyday stuff?

Wait...

He wouldn't have...

"Neuvillette, what do you do in your free time?"

Surely not...

"Paperwork, of course."

"No, not at work. After work, when you're free." I elaborated.

"Research for future trials, assuring the wellbeing and, as far as I can, the happiness of children orphaned because their parents going to prison, some things relating to the Marechaussee Phantom-"

"I'll stop you right there. That is still just work. Fun, Neuvillette. Fun."

He tilted his head slightly as he looked at me, eyes full of confusion.

Sigh...

"What do you do to relax?" I tried again.

Relax.

He should know what that means, right?

"Was what I previously stated not enough?"

Maybe not.

"I'm only gonna repeat this one more time. That is work. Relaxing is doing something other than work. I, for example, like to go on walks. Do you just walk around from time to time?"

"With my identity, that could pose a problem. I do not wish to incite mass panic."

Fair enough.

Something else then.

"How about reading?"

"Documents?"

"Books, Neuvillette, books. Stories. Fiction."

"I have books on law."

"What about all the romance novels the girls have at your house? Have you never looked into one?"
