Wriothesely's POV

It's been two days since the-

 The-

 The-

 The k-

 The ki-

 The kiss.

It's been two days since I kissed Neuvillette!

 And, oh god!

He's been avoiding me ever since.

Well, avoiding isn't exactly the right way to put it.

He still works in my office and...

For the past two nights, he had insisted on sleeping on my couch.

 Ugh!

This isn't good for my heart!

 What is he thinking?!

 I want to know!

 Neuvillette, please talk to me!

 Just not about work!

We've only talked about work these past two days.

Sure, with that incident we were both incredibly busy.

Lady Furina even asked Neuvillette if he wanted to return to Court, but he adamantly refused.

Instead, we ended up having Clorinde as a frequent visitor as she brought piles upon piles of classified documents for Neuvillette to handle.

She also gifted me a few pitying glances, though I can't guess why.

 She wouldn't...

 No, she can't possibly know.

I brushed off her pitying glances and got back to handling my own stack of paperwork.

Thanks to Neuvillette, Meropide's side wasn't in all that much trouble.

Aside from needing a few pipes and a bit of framework replaced here and there, mostly everything was still intact and ready to operate once again.

I had sent a request for damage reimbursement-

Well, I gave it to Neuvillette.

That one was a funny scene.

He looked at the stated amount, something that the engineers worked really hard to calculate, with a frown, and just when I was about to ask him if something was wrong, he quickly added a zero to the end of it before signing it and putting it aside without another word, looking awfully satisfied.

 Pfft!

I really want to know what went through his head at that moment.

 But...

He hasn't said a word to me about anything but work!

Every time I try initiating conversation, we somehow end up talking about work again!

 Argh!

 This is so frustrating!

But at least there is one thing that allows me to keep my sanity.

 "Neuv."

He flinched, a blush creeping up his neck.

 "Neuv." And again.

 Pfft!

No matter how many times I do this, the reaction never changes.

 "Neuv."
