In the end, no matter what I did, Neuvilette refused to tell me who had spoken those... words.
No matter.
I'll find out eventually.
Nothing stays a secret for too long under my surveillance.
Tsk!
Still, they left my innocent dragon thoroughly traumatized.
It's a wonder he hasn't run back to the Palais Mermonia yet.
That's most likely because of Sigewinne.
The second we entered my office-
"Dad!"
She jumped happily into his arms.
"Good morning, Sigewinne."
I could see that Sigewinne was about to say something, but before she did so, she froze, giving Neuvillette a once over.
"Dad, you smell like the Duke- Wha- You're wearing his clothes too! You- You- What did you do to Dad, you perverted Duke!?"
That last one was obviously directed at me.
The words died in my throat as I watched Neuvillette's face go black.
Oh, dear.
Was that too much after what he heard?
It seems it was, as Sigewinne was soon placed down on the couch.
"Dad? Dad, I didn't mean to! I- I just-"
"No, it's fine, Sigewinne, I just... I need a moment..."
While Neuvillette sat down on the side and buried his face in paperwork, I was subjected to Sigewinne's deadly glares.
Oh, come on!
This is entirely undeserved!
I didn't do anything!
Her silent glares, however, were soon interrupted by Neuvillette.
"Sigewinne, dear. Could you do me a favor?"
"Of course!"
She ran over happily and smiled as Neuvillette whispered something into her ear.
That smile, however, quickly faded.
"What?! Why?!"
"It's just a precaution."
"If you don't tell me why, then I won't do it!" Sigewinne insisted.
There was a sigh of resignation from Neuvillette before he whispered something to her once again.
"He did what!?!"
This time, her outburst was even louder than before.
"It was a simple mistake and it was mainly my fault, Sigewinne, please-"
"That's it! Dad you- You wait here for Lady Furina to return! I'll take the Duke with me to the infirmary for a bit!"
"Sigewinne-"
"I'm not listening!" She shouted without even looking back at the poor abandoned-looking dragon.
But...
Why am I being dragged away?
"Just what did I do this time?" I asked her.
"Hmph! You actually dared to- You dared to- Argh! You damn pervert!" She shouted as she dragged me to the infirmary.
