He looked at Mino and Mino looked back at him. It wasn’t difficult to guess for them to guess the other’s identity from the way they spoke.

Mino seemed as if he wasn’t up to anything suspicious, but he took a tiny step in Jennie’s direction.

“Uh.” Jennie was confused when she realized that Mino was standing very close to her.

Mino was her chief’s son and her superior. Her relationship with him was pretty good.

Jennie didn’t think too much about it, but when she realized that he was standing very close to her she made eye contact with Lisa. She suddenly felt guilty.

It was unbelievable.

“Let me introduce you. This is Song Mino, my superior. Senior, this is Lalisa, my spouse.”

She couldn’t bring herself to say the word “husband.” Lisa raised an eyebrow at her choice of words.

He was not satisfied with such an introduction and couldn’t get over the way Mino moved closer to her just now.

This man, he probably has other intentions towards Jennie.

He knew in his heart that it was true, but he stepped forward anyway and reached his hand out towards Mino out of courtesy.

“Senior Song, right? I’ll call you senior as well then. I’m Lalisa Manoban, Jennie’s husband.”

Mino reached out his hand to shake Lisa’s. Both men squeezed the other’s hand tightly and then quickly let go.

Lisa pulled Jennie into an embrace as he retracted his hand, and Jennie suddenly felt awkward. She still needed time to get used to the way Lisa would suddenly grab her hand, hold her waist, or put his arm around her shoulder.

Lisa felt her body tense up and held her tighter.

“Let’s leave work since you’re done with your business.”

“Lisa,” Jennie said, awkwardly scratched her nose. “Senior just got back today and I promised that I would treat him to a meal.”

Mino stood there and measured up Lisa.

He seemed to be very tall and charismatic. He noticed that Lisa’s hands were very lean when they shook hands and that he was very strong as well.

How did Jennie get to know a man like him when she was always buried in research and busy at the hospital? He was very curious. As he heard Jennie’s words, he snapped out of his thoughts and smirked. He said, “That’s right. Jennie promised to treat me today.”

Lisa held Jennie tighter as he replied. “Since you’re Jennie’s superior, then I should be the one to treat you.”

His expression was friendly and he continued. “Senior, you weren’t around when Jennie and I got married, so this treat is a must. I wonder, what do you like to eat?”

“I just got back, so I miss Chinese food. Anything’s fine as long as it’s Chinese cuisine.”

Mino wasn’t picky. Lisa nodded and turned his head to look at Jennie. “Then let’s go get Sichuan. Is that alright?”

“Sure.”

“Let’s not get Sichuan.”

Their two different responses made Lisa tilt his face towards Mino. “Senior, you don’t like it?”

“It’s not that I don’t like it, but Jennie’s stomach isn’t that strong. Let’s not eat something so spicy, alright?”

As he spoke, his expression was very calm and natural, as if he was looking out for his peer.
