Lisa only noticed Jennie’s hesitation after he had started to walk away. He turned around to look at her. “What’s wrong?”

Jennie shook her head and tried to take the ring off, but Lisa put it back on her finger again.

“What’s wrong? You don’t like it?”

“It’s not that.” Jennie stared at Lisa’s face, wondering what to say. “I just think that this is too much. How could you buy me such a big ring? You didn’t even think about how pretentious it would be to wear it.”

It was too ostentatious whether or not it was real or fake.

Lisa scratched his head. “Don’t women like big rings? I thought the brighter it was the better?”

It’s not easy to find such a big pink diamond like this, let alone one with such clarity. She actually doesn’t like it? Lisa thought to himself. “Says who?” He asked her.

Jennie didn’t want to keep arguing with him. “It’s fine. I understand your intentions. Let me put it this away. it really isn’t suitable.”

Lisa watched as Jennie put the ring, which he had spent a lot of money on and had gotten customized from Paris, into a drawer of the vanity.

His lips twitched and he said, “Wifey…”

“Alright, let’s go eat.”

“Wife…” Lisa grabbed her hand and had a sad expression on his face. “Are you sure you don’t despise the fact that I bought a fake one?”

Jennie’s temple twitched. It’s too crazy to think that Lisa had another identity, She thought to herself.

Lisa looked sad. He looked like a big, sad golden retriever to her.

“It really isn’t that.”

Lisa still appeared to be upset. Jennie didn’t like to see him like this, so she stepped out of the room after glaring at him.

After dinner, Lisa tried to drag Jennie out for a walk, but she didn’t want to move.

“You can either take a walk with me, or you can put the ring on.”

Lisa was starting to fool around again and Jennie almost laughed out of anger. How can he be like this? She thought.

“I’ve already said it. The ring is too big. It draws too much attention to me when I wear it.”

Even though it’s a fake. It is still too ostentatious, alright? She thought.

“Then come take a walk with me.” Lisa grasped her hand. “We’ve been married for so long and we still haven’t had a walk together.”

The corner of Jennie’s mouth twitched and Lisa shuffled her out the door.

Her apartment was pretty close to the center of the city. The two of them got dinner and walked to the street of the nearby neighborhood while holding hands.

There was a park to their left and a big supermarket to their right.

Although Jennie had moved here a while ago, she hadn’t walked around this area before.

She became a little excited as Lisa dragged her along.

“Jennie, this piece looks pretty nice. Go try it on.”

The two were walking past the window of a boutique when Lisa paused and pointed at a dress inside. He looked at Jennie.

“No need. I have clothes.” She didn’t really care about what she wore or what she ate.
