After a day, the five-fingered handprint on Hye-Jun’s face faded a little.

Still, she neither applied any medicine to it nor gave it any other treatments. She had purposefully returned home with that look.

She wanted the handprint to serve as a reminder of the humiliation that she had suffered in Japan. She also wanted Kim Soo-Hyun to see how Jennie had bullied her.

Kim Soo-Hyun had been very busy lately. He was still working overtime despite being on leave.

“Hye-Jun, you are back! How was your trip to Japan?”

Kim Soo-Hyun didn’t stop writing. He only said this one thing when he saw her before lowering his head to return to his work.

“Father...”

By now, Hye-Jun was already pacing in front of Kim Soo-Hyun. She sounded different from her usual self. As Kim Soo-Hyun looked up, he immediately saw the five-fingered handprint on his daughter’s face.

“What happened to you?”

Kim Soo-Hyun immediately stood up, went round his work desk to the front of Hye-Jun and asked, “Who hit you? Who?”

He was visibly angry. He hadn’t imagined that her precious daughter, whom he had treasured like pearls, would be slapped on her face like that!

Who would dare to do such a thing in Lin City?

“Father.” Even if Hye-Jun had been putting on an act right from the start, she was really feeling like she had suffered injustice now, a huge injustice.

She really felt wronged and was filled with anger and hatred.

“Hye-Jun?” Kim Soo-Hyun’s heart ached terribly when he saw Hye-Jun in this state. “Don’t cry. Tell me who hit you first.”

Hye-Jun couldn’t stop herself from feeling emotional. She only calmed down with much effort.

“Hye-Jun?” Kim Soo-Hyun almost felt like dying as he looked at his daughter crying so hard that her eyes had turned red. “Stop crying. Please tell me what happened to you.”

“Father,” said Hye-Jun as she took a deep breath to calm herself down, “you wouldn’t let anybody bully me, right?”

“Of course,” said Kim Soo-Hyun as he nodded. “You are my daughter. I will never let anybody bully you.”

“So you will definitely settle the scores with whoever bullied me, right?”

“Of course.” Kim Soo-Hyun nodded again. “I will not allow anybody to bully you.”

Hye-Jun felt relieved and nodded her head too. “The person who bullied me is Jennie...”

“Jennie?” Kim Soo-Hyun frowned upon hearing her name. “What happened to the both of you again? Didn’t you go to Japan? How did you...”

Kim Soo-Hyun didn’t believe that Jennie would initiate bullying Hye-Jun. He more or less knew what her character was like.

She always avoided trouble wherever possible. Why would she provoke Hye-Jun with no rhyme or reason?

“Father. I have not finished. The person who had bullied me is Jennie’s mother.”

Jennie’s mother? Kim Soo-Hyun couldn’t react. “Who did you say it was?”

“Jennie’s mother.” Hye-Jun was still feeling suffocated with grievances as she recalled what Jun Ji-hyun had said the other day. “Father, her mother actually said my mother was the home-wrecker? She said that my mother had snatched you from her. This is not true, is it? She was lying to me, right?”
