Crossing Paths

Arcueid pov: I barely managed to withstand "Pluto die Schwester," but with my power, I recovered quickly. I looked around the crater for my sister. 

"I—I am alive..." Altrouge mutters 

I scoff and squint at my sister angrily. "You are resilient." 

"Did you think a simple attack like that would kill little ol' me?" She asks 

"You thought it would..." 

My sister laughs, "True, and this will kill you!" She darted forward, but due to my injury, she fell a bit and only slashed my eye. If that attack had hit me, it would have actually killed me. 

"Bwahahaahahahaha!" I laugh

She glared at me as I succumbed further into my anger and vampirism. I punched her, and she was sent flying, so I followed her. We both hurdled through the air quickly. She crashed into the ground, and I smirked. 

"Time to hit you with a move that will stop you." I was cut off by her hitting me. I was sent flying in the air, crashing on a wall. 

"We're in the city?" I comment 

"Yeah, now you can't go all out since you are trying to save lives!" She said 

"I don't give a damn..." I laugh 

I shot a giant beam that tore through the city, and through her, she didn't notice that I created vegetation such as vines in order to minimize the damage done to buildings and the roads. 

I launched forward with a shoulder tackle and slammed into my sister. We went tearing through the city, only stopping as we slammed into Nrvnqsr. 

"Arcueid!?" Ciel shouts 

My sister glared at the beast that Nrvnqsr is and scoffed, "How aren't you dead yet!?" She angrily screamed; she was clearly pissed that the job hadn't been done yet.

"Like I said, we are strong, and I wouldn't want to see my rival lose to one of the weakest dead apostles in the world!" I shout 

"I'll... I'll kill her!" Nrvnqsr yelled 

"No, you die!" Noel screamed as she began to brutally beat on Nrvnqsr repeatedly over and over again, not letting up on the assault. Not even once Altrouge got in front of Nrvnqsr and was about to slash her, but Ciel lunged in front of her, and cuts appeared all over her body. She was riddled with cuts. 

"N—No!" Noel screamed 

"You are all going to die, so why injure yourself more than you need to?" Altrouge asks 

"Because we have something to fight for." I say 

Flashback...

"I'm going to kill you!" I hissed at the old man; he just stood there, not even phased by the fact that I was rushing him as fast as I could.

I jumped into the air and kicked him, but he effortlessly blocked it by raising his arm up.

"Arcuied, you should know by now that a straightforward attack like that is pointless," Kischur stated.

I gritted my teeth, slashing my hand downward. He caught my wrist, stopping my hand from advancing, before hitting me. His punch practically hit me like a freight train. I've never felt an attack like that before. I almost passed out from the attack.

"Araughhhh!" I screamed before going for a barrage of attacks. Every single punch and kick was blocked with no effort. I sent a projectile slash his way, and with wind pressure alone, he dispersed it.

"Arcueid, you're still sloppy," he reprimanded.

I growled, "Shut up, you old bastard!" I yelled with anger.

"Quell your rage; you wouldn't want to go insane now, would you?" He asked me

"I won't go insane fighting you; you're not worth it, you old fart!" I yelled

He smiled at me. "As vulgar as always," he stated.

It was as if he teleported behind me and suddenly punched me in the back. My eyes felt as if they were going to pop out of my head. I fell over, struggling to even stand.

Arcueid, you need to quit trying to do things you can't do. Stop trying to fight the Night of Wallachia. Leave it to people who can." Kischur stated 

I managed to get back onto my feet and exhaled, "Without me, they can't win!" I yelled 

"That may be true, but you can't win. Tell me, what do you have that others don't? You can summon the crimson moon, but other than that, what do you bring to the table?" I was asked

"Guts..." I snarled 

"That may not be good enough; you are too full of yourself!" Kischur calmly said

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be full of myself? After all, I am myself!" I yelled at him.

End of Flashback...

Altrouge and Nrvnqsr lunged at Ciel, trying to kill her.

"Gnadenstodss..." I laugh

Chains busted out of the ground, slammed into both of them, and sliced into them. They fell to the ground, having to recover. 

"I have to calm down..." I sigh 

I let myself calm down so I wouldn't succumb to my vampirism, and then I grabbed Ciel, pulling her up to my side. "You have to fight with me; you can't die until you give me a good fight." I say 

"I also can't die unless I'm plundered or unless my curse disappears," she said.

"You are ruining this," I say.

"Tsk, you better not hold me back," she says. 

I smile, "Same to you..." I say 

The two of us are standing side by side. This would never happen before, but I guess the end of the world changes how you act around people. We have to fight side by side. We have to save the world. 

"Follow me!" I shout

"No, you follow me!" Ciel shouts

"For the love of—just fight!" Noel yells

She doesn't care who is the leader, which I guess makes sense, but I don't want to be shown up by Ciel; she is a loser.

I won't let this bastard outshine me. I'm going to keep on going, and I'm going to show her why I'm better by taking those two out.
