The elevator ride going down was definitely sketchy. It soared downwards like it wasn't actually attached to a pulley, feeling as though we were falling to our deaths. I grabbed hold of the railing next to me, wincing as the elevator shook. Caitlyn had her body facing the door, hands tucked behind her back as if this was a casual afternoon stroll. Her eyes turned in my direction, watching as I prepared myself for the elevator to slow.
"So--you and Vi are officially together," she spoke up, turning her eyes back to the doors. I let out a sigh, rolling my eyes. Really?
"Well--we did proclaim our love," I said sarcastically as the elevator lurched slightly, beginning to finally slow down. "I would say that we are official."
"About time," Caitlyn hummed, making me glare over at her.
"Oh, sorry," I drawled out as I began to straighten up once the elevator finally came to a stop. "You're sloppy lips on hers made me rethink what was going on."
Caitlyn shot me a pointed look just before the elevator doors opened. She stepped out, watching as I pushed away from the railing and quickly followed her lead. No longer wanting to be in that death trap of a box.
"Let me talk to her first," Caitlyn whispered, picking up a set of keys that had been tossed to the ground.
"Why?" I growled, standing next to her now.
"Because I need to make sure I get my point across before you swoop in," Caitlyn shot back before walking forward. I let out a soft tsk of my lips, throwing my arm up in her direction as I rolled my eyes. But I stayed planted in place, crossing my arms over my chest while leaning against the entryway to watch. Caitlyn approached the cell straight across, picking at the keys to find the right one. She pushed the key into the lock, pausing before slowly opening the door. "Had a feeling I might find you here."
I tilted my head to the side some, expecting to see Jinx and Vi in there--but it was only Vi.
"I really believed she'd help," Vi mumbled, resting her arm against the wall while turning her back toward Caitlyn. I quickly took notice of her knuckles bloody and raw--along with the small dent in the wall of the cell. "Say it. You told me so. I was an idiot to trust her. I went behind your back. I choose wrong every time. And because of it, I've lost everyone."
My eyes softened slightly as I watched Vi intertwine her hands behind her back, pressing the long hairs down against her skin.
"And Y/n's laying in that fucking bed--damn it, it might as well be her death bed," Vi added, making me push away from the wall and drop my arms at my sides. My lips twisted together slightly as I stepped forward, moving toward the cell as quickly as possible as Caitlyn entered it.
Crossing her arms over her chest, Caitlyn turned to the side before sinking her body against the wall just a few feet away from her. "You really think I needed all the guards at the Hexgates?"
Vi's head lifted upwards, turning in her direction as I slowly leaned against the open doorway of the cell. Crossing my own arms over my chest as I watched.
Caitlyn smirked a little before speaking once more, "Sorry to say, you've grown a bit predictable."
Vi straightened up, her shoulders sagging slightly as Caitlyn pushed off the wall.
"And Y/n isn't on her deathbed."
Vi's brows furrowed together slightly just before I pushed away from the door, taking a step inside the cell. Her blue eyes instantly found mine, widening as I took another step forward.
