Vi and I sat side by side on the bench set in front of the fireplace, our shoulders nearly touching one another as we watched Caitlyn pace in front of us. The map set up on the board just behind her haunted me--the replicas of Ambessa's army ships inching closer and closer to the map of Piltover. Caitlyn informed us about Jayce trying to get the Undercity to help with the fight... but the majority of them refused. Which didn't exactly surprise me. I mean, who would want to aid in battle against a city that treated them like dirt?

"I'm worried about our numbers," Caitlyn admitted, finally stopping in front of us as she pressed her lips together. I raised my brow slightly as Vi sighed, shaking her head.

"None of you Pilties are gonna be able to convince them to fight," Vi mumbled, running a hand over the top of her hair before setting it onto my lap. Wrapping her fingers around my thigh and giving it a tight squeeze. I felt my back tighten at the sensation, trying and failing not to remember what had just happened moments before coming back up from the bunker. Feeling a Twitch bloom and jerk my head to the side before the memory of her hands running over my chest flashed through. My cheeks burned at the memory, and I bit my bottom lip as I tried to shove the Twitch back down.

"But this war will affect them as well," Caitlyn argued as she began to rub her chin and turn to stare at the map. "Once Ambessa's army is here, they're going to overrun us. I don't doubt that our training will be enough to hold them back... but our limited numbers won't last long against an entire army."

"There really isn't anyone who they'll listen to besides Jinx," I spoke up once I finally caught my breath, placing my hand over Vi's and glancing over at her. "Who does not want anything to do with Piltover, might I add."

Caitlyn's head whipped in my direction so fast that I flinched at the sheer look of her pointed gaze down at me. A plan began to bloom and glisten in her eyes. "That's it," she whispered, pointing down at me while beginning to nod slowly. "They'll only listen to Jinx--and you."

"What?" I laughed slightly, a disbelieving smile crossing my lips as Vi's brows pinched together. "In case you forgot, I skipped around Zaun in an Enforcer uniform. They won't listen to me."

"But they'll listen to Mouse," Caitlyn pointed out, taking a step closer to me as my smile vanished. "Mouse was always seen with Jinx. The two were always together. You two were always together."

"People feared Mouse," I interjected with a pointed glare. "Anytime I would walk through the streets of Zaun, they would cower away from me. They knew if they ever crossed paths with Mouse, they would not make it back in one piece or end up overdosing on Shimmer."

"But Jinx became a symbol--which means you can, too," Caitlyn said as Vi slowly got to her feet and looked down at me.

"I think she's right, Cupcake," Vi spoke up, making me turn my glare over at her. "The Undercity craves a leader--and I'm not sure what exactly my sister is planning right now, but you can show the people of Zaun that this war involves them. They want somebody to look up to--to believe in. Just like Vander used to be. You told me one time that you wanted to make Mouse out to be a different person--a better person. That's why you never cut your hair, remember?"

My shoulders dropped as my gaze dulled on her. But then my head snapped to the side, a Twitch riding up my spine and making me gasp as my vision flashed over with pink and blue.

"But I don't want to change my physical appearance because of it--I'm trying to help Mouse become better as well."

God damn it, why did she always have to be right?

I let out a sigh as I slowly turned my head back in their direction, shaking it around some. I've been trying so hard to push Mouse away--that I completely forgot that she was a part of me. And she craved to be better. So maybe this whole symbol thing could work out.

"Okay," I grumbled, planting my hands on my knees before hoisting myself to my feet. "Okay--I'll try... but I'm not promising they'll listen."

Vi moved forward, cupping the back of my head before pressing her lips to my forehead. She gently kissed the skin and sent a jolt of electricity through it before pulling away to look at me.

"That's all you have to do."
