"Shall we go and find a compartment, then?" Harry asked once he and Y/N had reached Ron and Hermione on the train.

Ron and Hermione exchanged looks. "Er," said Ron.

"We're – well – Ron and I are supposed to go into the prefect carriage," Hermione said awkwardly. Ron wasn't looking at Harry; he seemed to have become intensely interested in the fingernails on his left hand.

"Oh," said Harry. "Right. Fine. Let's go then Y/N." He added, pulling Y/N a bit. It was very clear that he was displeased at the mention of prefects again.

"I don't think we'll have to stay there all journey," said Hermione warily. "Our letters said we just get instructions from the Head Boy and Girl and then patrol the corridors from time to time."

"Fine," said Harry again. "Well, we might see you later, then."

"Yeah, definitely," said Ron, casting a shifty, anxious look at Harry. "It's a pain having to go down there, I'd rather – but we have to – I mean, I'm not enjoying it, I'm not Percy," he finished defiantly.

"I know you're not," said Harry and he gave a reassuring grin. He wasn't happy but he didn't want to make Ron feel bad.

He and Y/N turned, walking down the train. "You okay?" Y/N asked, squeezing his hand soothingly.

"Yeah," he sighed, "I'm okay. Do you reckon we should go with Fred and George? or should we just get a compartment of our own?"

"Fred told me he was gonna be 'using his dashing charm' on Angelina, Let's try for one of our own" Y/N said, picking up her pace and pulling Harry along. They couldn't help but notice that a lot of people stared back at Harry with great interest and that several of them nudged their neighbours and pointed him out.

At this point Harry was used to eyes on him, but this time a lot of the eyes looked toward him in  distaste. That's when he remembered that the Daily Prophet had been telling its readers all summer what a lying show-off he was.

They walked to the end of the train, they did not find one of their own.

"It's the last one." Y/N said, dragging her trunk and peering into the little window. "Yes!" she exclaimed, pulling the door open.

"Y/N! Harry!" Ginny exclaimed upon seeing them, she was seated in the compartment with the same blonde girl as last year.

"Luna is it?" Y/N said, pulling Harry in with her. "This is Harry,"

Harry waved awkwardly "That's me"

Y/N rolled her eyes.

"Hello," Luna said, her voice soft and airy.

They heard loud almost stomp-like steps, before the door slid open.

"Hi, Harry," Nevile panted. "Hi, Y/N.....Ginny ... everywhere's full ... I can't find a seat ... is it OK if I sit here?"

They nodded and Neville took a seat.

Luna watched them over her upside-down magazine, which was called The Quibbler. She did not seem to need to blink as much as normal humans. She stared and stared.

"Had a good summer, Luna?" Y/N asked.

"Yes," said Luna dreamily, "Yes, it was quite enjoyable, you know. You're Harry Potter," she added, now looking at Harry.
