"Hello Borg," Y/N said, glancing around the store. She hadn't ever stepped foot inside; the most she knew was from Harry's description when he had floo'd there in second year.

"Borgin." he corrected, casting her a suspicious look.

"Very cool," Humming cheerily, Y/N strolled through the jumble of objects on display. "Is this necklace for sale?" she asked, pausing beside a glass-fronted case.

"If you've got one and a half thousand Galleons," said Mr. Borgin, "which I doubt."

She raised an eyebrow, annoyed. "I could buy your entire store and still have billions left over, so watch your damn tone will you?"

Borgin looked like he wanted to curse her, Y/N walked forwards, ignoring him.

"What about this skull?"

"Sixteen Galleons."

"So it's for sale, then? Not reserved?"

Mr. Borgin squinted at her.

Harry who was listening through the extendable ear, had the feeling Borgin was catching on.

Y/N clearly thought so too, as she continued, though she wasn't quite as confident as before. "That boy, Theodore Nott, he's my friend. I'd like to buy him a gift, but er- don't want to get him something he's already gotten.. So what did he reserve?"

"Out," he said sharply. "Get out!"

Y/N huffed at her failure, and turned, striding out of the store. As the bell tinkled again, Borgin slammed the door behind her and put up the CLOSED sign.

"Worth a shot," Y/N said, to a distraught looking Harry. He ushered her back under the cloak and let out a long sigh. How is it that she could just endanger herself?

"You can't just do things like that! He could've hurt you."

Y/N rolled her eyes and leaned closer to him, their shoulder brushing as they walked, "I'm fine Harry, aren't I?" she said.

Harry huffed, but he was content with their proximity. "Just- let's discuss things first alright? No being impulsive."

Y/N let out a sound that sounded like a mix of a scoff and a laugh, turning fully to look at Harry. "Are you, Harry James Potter, telling me not to be impulsive?"

Harry met her eyes and nodded, scoffing playfully at the laugh she let out. "What!"

"You're a total hypocrite Harold," she said, holding back a grin.

"My name isn't Harold!"

Harry was going insane.

He spent the last week of the holidays with his mind fumbling all sorts of information.

For one, Nott.

He didn't like how involved Y/N was getting with him, sure it wasn't anything crazy, but he just didn't like it.
