I checked the time. My screen lit up and it read 11:22 PM.

I huffed. I couldn't sleep. I turned in my bed for the hundredth time.

'Happy Little Pill' by Troye Sivan was the next song on shuffle.

After a while of laying there and staring into complete darkness my phone vibrated. I furrowed my eyebrows. I got a text. What the fuck?

It was Calum. A huge smiled spread across my face.

Calum: Hey, are you awake?

Me: Yea, I can't sleep.

Calum: Same here, everyone is asleep but I'm wide awake

Me: My Mom and Luke are asleep so yea, I'm the only one awake.

Calum: Don't have to wake up early, so that's good, right?

Me: Right. Don't really want to go back to school on Monday.

Calum: Why?

Me: Cause school is boring!

Calum: True.

Me: I wish I had my dog with me, I'm cold, and he gives the best cuddles.

Calum: That's no fair your dog gets cuddles from you :(

Me: He used to get cuddles, now he is thousands of miles away

Calum: Cuddle with Luke then

Me: No! He is going to throw me off the bed, he always did when we were kids.

He didn't reply. He probably fell asleep.

I continued to stare into the darkness.

My phone vibrated again.

Calum: Hey, open your window, I'm cold.

Me: What?

I sat up and pulled the covers off. I went to my window and peered out. Calum was standing outside, he had on gray sweats, vans, a black hoodie, and a dark blue beanie over his hair.

I opened the window.

"Calum! What the fuck are you doing here? It's midnight!" I whisper-yelled.

"Took you long enough, I was throwing rocks to catch your attention," he said.

"Well you must have been throwing socks, because I didn't hear anything."

He laughed.

"I'm coming up," he said.

"Wha-?"

I left the window and went to lock the door. If Luke or my Mom finds out that Calum came and stayed in my room, I am dead.

I went back to the window and Calum was halfway up the tree.

"Be careful, dammit," I said.

He laughed and jumped towards my window. He gripped the ridge.

"Are you insane?" I asked.

He climbed in and brushed himself off. I couldn't help but smile.

"Hey," he said smiling and raised an eyebrow. "Still cold?"

I snorted and walked over the my bed and laid down.

Calum pulled his hoodie off and lay next to me. I pressed my body against him and wrapped and arm around his stomach. I laid my head on his chest.

"How could you be cold? You're warm," I said.

"Which is why I decided to come and warm you up, babe."

My heart skipped a beat when he called me 'Babe.'

Calum pulled me closer and wrapped his arm around my waist.

I could hear his heartbeat, it was steady and thumping loudly.

I traced my index finger down his stomach. I could feel his muscles under the shirt he had on.

"You're so damn beautiful," Calum whispered and softly stroked my cheek with his free hand.

"You can't even see me," I pointed out.

"I know, but I just know you look gorgeous. And I'm pretty sure you don't put makeup on. You're one hundred percent naturally beautiful."

"Well, you are right about one thing, I don't wear makeup. I hate it, it makes my face feel weird," I said.

Calum snorted and kissed my forehead.

I smiled.

"You getting sleepy?" Calum asked.

"A little," I replied.

"Goodnight," Calum said.

"Don't leave," I whispered.

"I won't," He whispered back, "I'm here to stay."

I closed my eyes and the sleep engulfed me.
