"No, don't do that," I said and tried to shield myself from the water that Billie Joe shook off.

It didn't work.

I was still sprayed by water.

I huffed and picked up the white towel to dry Billie Joe off.

I was kneeling next to Billie in my room. I just finished showering Billie outside.

I wore a white shirt, black vans, and black shorts. Which is really rare I only wear shorts when I need to take Billie a shower, because I don't want to get me jeans wet and when it gets really hot.

I felt my phone vibrate. I pulled it out from my back pocket and tapped my screen. Not bothering to look at the caller ID.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Oh, Helen, you're awake, good," Dad said.

"Of course I'm awake, It's at 4 in the afternoon. What's up?"

"It's Adin," Dad said cautiously.

"What about Adin?" I asked tenaciously.

"He, he's in the hospital, Helen."

I felt my heart sink and my stomach twisted into a knot.

"What happened to him?" I demanded.

"He got jumped by a group of maybe 5 or more guys. No one knows who it was and Adin either won't tell us or can't speak."

Who would do that to Adin?!

"How hurt is he?" I asked.

"He has a busted lip, bruised eye and cheek, broken arm, and two broken ribs."

My hand flew to my mouth as I tried to hold back tears. Water still fell from my eyes.

"His parents are devistated. I'll tell Adin you said Hi."

"No, No, Dad don't do that," I said through a sob.

"Why?"

"Tell Adin, I'll be there, by his bedside. I'm coming back. I'm coming home. I'm getting on the next flight out to California."

"You don't have to do that, sweetheart."

"No, I have to. I need to take care of something. See you tomorrow, Dad. Love you."

I hung up.

My knees buckled but I quickly caught myself on the bed.

Not Adin. Not him.

I felt my chest tighten and I began breathing heavily and too fast.

I wanted to scream.

I felt dizzy.

Someone who obviously hated Adin did this to him. Someone who had a reason to do it.

And I know exactly who it is.

My sadness was replaced by anger and I was suddenly fuming.

Tears continued to fall from my eyes.

I looked at Billie, he stared back.

"Billie, stay," I said.

I opened my bedroom door and closed it behind me.

"What's up, Helen?" Luke asked.

I didn't bother looking at him. I bolted down the stairs and swung the front door open.

Luke called after me but I ignored him and sprinted.

My shoes hit the concrete as I continued to run.

I rounded a corner and crashed into someone.

They gripped my shoulders.

"Helen," I heard Calum say.

I looked up, his smile wavered.

"Babe, what's wrong?" He asked me.

"Are you okay?" Ashton asked.

I released myself from Calum's grip and continued to sprint.

"Helen!" Calum said.

I ran as if I was in the 4x100 relay race. Except I didn't have to hand anyone the baton.

I ran until I couldn't run anymore. I came across a gate.

I wheeled it open, but it only opened 10 inches. It was padlocked.

Good things of being small. I squeezed through the opening.

I was breathing heavily and my heart was racing.

Dark spots clouded my vision.

I entered the dark warehouse and collapsed on the cool concrete floor.

I rolled on my side and caught a glimpse of an old car.

This must be an abandoned car shop.

I let the dark spots consume me and I was thrown into utter and complete darkness.
